Good uncomplicated ATX mobo for mild gaming create. Runs my AMD Phenom X4 and 8GB Samsung DDR2 800MHz Ɣ slots is so nice) no complications. Supports my floppy and PATA drives also. Similiar experience that Mike had. I bought this board due to the fact I currently had 8GB of OCZ DDR 2 memory I wanted to re-use. The board was a breeze to install and booted promptly. The BIOS recognized memory timings instantly and set everything up properly. Was in a position to use the old Windows 7 OS with the replacement MB and processor. The other possibilities are fairly standard for folks utilized to overclocking, but it was tough hunting that down and still has me scratching my head as to why MSI has it set up that way.

Great feature-set at a low price, runs fine now. Misinformation in the product manual triggered me to chase my tail for over a week. In the manual for this board, it says (on page En-ten) that pin 20 of the ATX 24-pin energy connector is 'reserved'. The ATX specification also notes that pin 20 is for OPTIONAL -five VDC. On the other hand, when I connected this board to my power supply that happens to not have this pin connected the board doesn't POST. When I use yet another PS I the program boots just fine.I could have saved about a week of my life (and one RMA) if MSI had noted in their manual that the -5VDC is required for this board.

CATCHES FIRE!Yes you heard proper, my motherboard burst into a flame of epic proportions (as far as flaming motherboards go) continued to run for 7 seconds or so because I was so confused I didn't know what the hell to do and then shut off.I have been in the computer system hardware field for a lengthy time, and I have noticed CPUs burnout, PSUs fry, monitors smoke, but in no way in my life have I ever noticed a MoBo shoot and hold a 3 inch flame. Very good motherboard for windows 7. Makes it possible for me to keep my DDR 2 memory from my prior MB. Can also use my 3 year old water block with the AM2 socket.
