all the complaints i read in here, and i nevertheless ordered this board, thinking operator error, nicely gee, guess what board I am employing at this very moment? if you don't get your ram seated it isn't going to post. gee guess what occurred to me at very first? I didn't get the ram seated and i got a BSOD. got my hands back on the ram and checked for very good seating and it wasn't seated properly. the ram slots on this board are particularly tight and may possibly really feel as if they are seated and ARE NOT. the ram slots are tight and foolishly make you believe your ram is seated properly.once again double check!!! Board has worked fine for me. Like the color/looks. I built 2 pc's, a htpc and an office one particular at the exact same time. This board has been in both (other MSI board died throughout tension testing), with unique RAM, CPU and heatsinks, no troubles with any of them. It's overpriced, I bought an additional trustworthy brand to replace the other MSI board and that one particular has worked fine as nicely. It has similar capabilities and was significantly much less. I sent in the rebate for this board and it was rejected, not certain why. I've by no means had a rebate rejected prior to these days, and others from this create have come back- so I'm commonly pretty excellent at adhering to their requirements. For the price tag I don't feel this is the finest value. The fact that the rebate was rejected is just annoying. |

Receiving 45c at most with 1.2v.O.C.able onboard GPU that runs CSS at 1920x1080 pretty smoothly on fairly high graphics.+USB 3 and Sata 6gb/s IOShield is not a winner.I don't like it.Really ANNOYING APS LED.It's on ALL THE TIME.And I truly can't find any way to turn it off in the BIOS.Turning off Cool n' Quiet and some other power selections doesn't work.Mine came with 1.8 bios and the newest is 1.9.Tried to flash with some help from the MSI forums and I can't get it to flash correctly from the usb flash drive. Can always go to the backup though...Oh well. It nonetheless functions atleast. This item works perfectly. Initial boot up was fine. The layout of the board is wonderful. The Micro ATX design is fantastic for my used Compaq case.I have 4GB of DDR3 RAM and an X6 CPU installed as nicely as an SSD. The HD 4290 IGP works excellent for older games as well as RTS's such as StarCraft II FPS v-sync'd on Lowest settings and 15-25+ FPS on Medium settings each at 1024 x 768). I use the MSI Manage Center to preserve an eye on my CPU and method heat each and every of which remain around 100-115 degrees F based on what I am undertaking. The CPU is employing the Stock cooler that came with it and it averages at 3600RPMs on IDLE and 4200RPM's when in considerable use. I have a single 120MM case fan as nicely to keep it cool. Also, I am using Windows XP Household 32-bit. none. |

Sata 6 Gb/s, USB three., 890GX chipset. Critical overclock ablility & stability. Everyday reputable usage. One particular of only 3 m-atx boards w/ two PCI-E 2. x16 slots (one of those competitors is only in a position to use single slot cards, and the other is from a manufacturer w/ a not so very good rep). Black&Blue colors, high finish parts, One step Effortless OC switch and crazy little size.Cost is kinda high for a mATX but its is a AMD base board so you will make up the distinction on the CPU Vs. a intel board for the very same cost with the least expensive CPU starting at 赨. no SLI 16x,16x with the dual PCIe slots only 8x,8x when working with SLI or Xfire mode. But if you want that you will require to get a EVGA board My key program is a intel method and all my stsems ahead of that were intel so there is no bias here on AMD or Intel i adore and use them both. |

Crossfire, AM3, Right angle SATA ports. Few PCI slots, but this is due to the form element catagory and not the board specfically. Alot of reviewers have stated that the correct-angle SATA ports are annoying, but these are absolutly crucial if you strategy to run larger video cards in crossfire. Larger cards (like my dual ATI 5870s) would fully cover straight angle ports and make your MB mainly useless. Also this is 1 of only two mATX AM3 on newegg that can assistance two ATI 5870s in crossfire due to slot placement making it the only choice for high-power mATX builders. |

Only AMD board on the newegg at the time of this posting that has each a smaller form element and dual PCIx16 slots. On board grafix are rather nice (for what they are), permitting for older games to be played at good detail. (WOW is at excellent detail 30FPS+, HL2 is on high @ 1080p 30FPS+) Runs with my 1100t, but no official support. Hopeful that will be changed soon, but for now combo this with a 1090t and get your support. Put my very first 6950 in it two days ago, seeking forward to adding a second in Crossfire. |

Nice value for a high quality 890GX board. It has received several good reviews. This board has high excellent capacitors and components, yet has a reasonable cost. Unlocking CPU cores may possibly cause instability, this is NOT the fault of the motherboard.AMD may possibly have locked the cores for a cause..Often ATI catalyst drivers and nVidia drivers on the very same method don't play nice together. I typically advocate pairing an AMD motherboard with an ATI video card. Unlocking cores is a threat. It may possibly trigger method instability, it may well cause unforeseen troubles or it may go off without having a hitch. I have two CPU's (a sempy and a tri-core) that had been fully unable to unlock. I am nevertheless fairly happy with my invest in.It is nicely known among the enthusiast community that core temps will NOT be reported properly when core unlocking. This really should tell you proper away that this is not common operating procedure. Concerning the onboard video, it is an integrated graphics chip. It will not compare nicely to any form of dedicated graphics card, especially a 3d gaming video card. It is meant for general computing and it will do just fine in that capacity. If you want to play games, you will certainly be looking for a devoted graphics card. The HD4200 is capable of displaying blu-ray content and would be good for an HTPC or common computing atmosphere. You could most likely play WOW on lowered settings but not a lot more demanding games like Crysis. |

-SATA 6, and USB III-Solid capacitors, high excellent parts-OC is made possible for novice users-Hybrid CrossFireX with compatible Radeon HD 5450-ATX power in a MicroATX board (CrossfireX, 890 chipset)-HDMI Out Onboard (Audio AND Video!)-i-Charger is a nice touch (It Does Work) -HD flipped out soon after OS install, generating loud clicking noises (linked to SATA controller, but was fixed with driver install from web-site)-HDMI would from time to time give my 32" HDTV screen black borders using 1280x720 resolution (fixed by playing with the BIOS a bit, just set display alternatives to actual values rather of 'Auto") This board posted appropriate out of the box, no questions asked. Had some smaller concerns here and there, but were easily fixable. You have to install USB III drivers to get them to function, it's not automatic. Working with the supplied DVD for drivers is not a fantastic notion, I would reccomend DL'ing drivers from internet site. THIS BOARD IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH WIN ME AND LOWER!! (then again who would install Win ME or Win 98SE in the 1st location with this board?) Bought this and a Phenom II x4 965 together for about 趤! I wanted to wait just before writing a assessment, since I thought this board may well create complications, but it hasn't, and it look like this one will last for years. |

Unlocked 1 core on my Phenom II 555 -- as opposed to other reviewers below mentioned, this board is totally capable of unlocking cores.Overclocks well, full complement of OC options. 4.4GHz stable 1.5 Vcore on a 555 with the third core unlockedTwo PCIe x16 slots, tough to discover on a mATX boardOnboard RAID functions flawlessly If the second PCIe x16 slot is applied, the initially operates at x8. Not a big con, as the bandwidth hit isn't massive, but x16/x4 would be greater.I don't like the PCIe slot tabs on MSI boards, they tend to break when removing cards. I don't use OC Genie, so no comments on that. |

I'm fairly tech savvy.. but, building my 1st CPU I ought to admit I am glad I got this board. It was smaller than I thought.. but, it is nonetheless really impresssive. The Onboard GPU is more than sufficient to "get you by" until you can afford a much better gpu. I was able to play l4d2 with reasonable settings (most issues maxed and around 1600x1200 res) without a enormous frame sacrifice...It won't play crysis with onboard.. but, day to day use and realistic gaming is no challenge.Extremely OC friendly. I have yet to come across anything I can really complain about.Board Physically feels *SOLID* I was owrried about breaking it at 1st.. but, it can be handled somewhat roughly. (don't intentionally do it.. I nor anybody else is responsible for equip) THE CMOS JUMPER!!!! TO THE BOWELS OF HADES WITH IT!I like a noob did not put my ram in dual channel mode initially. this lead to large instability anytime I tried to OC FSB or Ram.. multiplier was strangley stable with oc though..Either way point I am receiving to is I frequently had to CMOS jump it to get it working again.... Even now I hesitate to toy with OC considerably due to my case being somewhat major and below my desk.. and a total discomfort in the *** to try and jump off.If your going to OC.. make positive you don't have to crawl under your desk.. its tough sufficient to get to that jumper as it is..I'm not taking an egg off of it for my moronic nature and simply because every board has cons.. the question is are the pro's sufficient to redeem it? and I would def say "YES". |

Came on time. Exceptional Condition. Almost everything I could hope for. No dead on arrivals, worked the first time I turned it on. I upgraded from a stock computer, that had next to no usb ports, this on the other hand I can't figure out what to do with all the ports. In my case the motherboard is towards the top, RAM slots and CPU sink interfere with leading vent fans. Wasn't a difficulty though for my case. I had room to offset them.Didn't come with mounting screws. I don't know if it's regular but if your case doesn't have an added regular set of screws you may possibly be out of comission till you uncover some. Also the back panel, labeling the ports, didn't fit my case. Put too significantly tension on the mb for my taste, so I just left it out. Bought this motherboard for the very first personal computer I ever built. I had no problems with it so I don't see why any person else would. |

Cons:no room for wider video cards like direct cu II but with this being an mATX only a minor complaint. Also the positioning of the front panel power, led connectors is difficult in some cases to work with because it is not marked on the mobo and you have ot use the manual to connect the jumpers. also one sata connection is placed facing up and would be impossible to use if useing a crossfire configuration. solid board great for a simple to mid build.
Pros:very good build, easy bios controls and update function. LOVE the standard sata III 6 GBS and usb 3.0 options at a reasonable price, haven't tried crossfire yet but very easy stable overclocks. Comment:

Bought this since Bulldozer is not getting out, AM3+ mobo are not crossfire 8x/8x and there is no 990FX mATX mobo. Since the x4 925 was only 70$ and memory price dropped I bought everything for a new machine and decided to use this mobo since there's not a lot of crossfire mATX board for AM3 socket. Good board but dual channel is not working (4GB out of 8 detected). |
Does what it says. Not a huge fan of Sata set up at 90 degrees.Manual not very usefull. 4 persons getting trouble with going to sleep mode, you will need to go into bios to adjust settings.
