Rock solid, top top quality components. There aren't any greater x58 boards out there. If you want the greatest board, this is it! I 1st bought GA-X58a-UD5 from another place. I took the board back and received a refund, and waited and waited until this board was listed at Newegg. I feel I was 1 of the very first to receive it.... I got the board, and set it up. This board has hi-c capacitors which has higher voltage fluctuation tolerances and will last several, many, time over. I've installed it, now my laptop or computer is operating sooo a lot cooler, and it's completely silent.I am operating the board with 24GB G.Skills ram (bought here at Newegg) and core i7 930. Windows 7 Ultimate w/ Freenas running below VMWare w/ ྫྷ) x 1TB disks and Dual Enermax Revolution85+ 1050 watts of power). The overclocking selections are incredible. OC Genie is also awesome! I now have the ultimate machine that I can run 24x7 serving files as well as occasional high frame-rate gaming. None! The Gigabyte boards, in particular the UD3 series has a critical difficulty with high pitch whining noise coming from CPU socket area. Coal Whine? Only way to lower the high pitch noise is to disable C1E energy saving function. And for some individuals, even this workaround doesn't fix the dilemma. I had the identical problem, and tried every little thing. It seems this sort of problem are pervasive across a lot of boards... Tried diverse beta bioses, and many other techniques, but it didn't fix the problem for me. So far this board is silent, cool and operating beautifully! |

For it's size 1 of the finest laid out boards produced. Military grade components and it really shows if you appear closely at what's soldered to the board. One of the fastest booting motherboards I've ever owned and I've owned a bunch. Diverse colored LED lights shoot out of the audio card rather of color coded plugs which looks way cool.Six 16x (mechanical) slots is Wonderful. Hot hot heat coming off the Northbridge. MSI has to put a 60mm fan on that factor like I ultimately did. That thing is smoking hot with out one. Other than the hot Northbridge this board is the ideal regular size ATX board produced suitable now. |

Board has a fairly decent layout. I will be staying with msi right after installation of this mobo. Has a nice readout of error messages (digital- and beeps). I like the different profiles for OC'n. Everything works on motherboard upon arrival. I believe this to be a quite nice stable board. had to locate error messages on-line oc dashboard i discover a bit more than leading-- but a lot more of preference.. i guess nice to have as alternative. I actually like this board and i (for 1) do suggest this board |

This is a truly very good motherboard.1.Socket layout genuinely clean2. 16 phase cpu energy is really good on this board3.Regular size MB4. sound card not built in but included5. oc Dashboard is relly nice.6. capacity to check voltages with a multimeter7. dual 8-pin and one 6-pin onboard.8. phase lights are nice.9. Colour and appear (I care about looks and this board looks excellentဎ. the heatsinks and heatpipe do a truly good job at keeping the board cool. none but I am comparing this to my Asus Rampage III Extreme. and i should say i like this board much more. at the moment it is running my i7 930 at 4.2 ghz with my memory at 2000 7-9-7-24-1T. I am working with a Gskill ripjaw kit. preserve in mind like all boards the qpi can be a little lower in reality than what you truly set it in the bios, and i7 chips are quite qpi sensative when running 2000 memory. merely check it with a meter. the cpu voltage in no way sags due to the awsome 16 phase power design. again i monitored it with a meter. make positive you set VDroop to "low VDroop" there is 1 for QPI and the Vcore. a ncie touch indeed. I Adore this motherboard. msi is truly good about offering new bios updates. if you need a new 1 for whatever reason you can visit their internet site. at the moment there is only one bios update on the web page, but i e-mailed them twice asking for a new biso and both time they supplied me with an even newr beta bios. i ahve tried the 1.20 (origionlƛ.3b5 and 1.3b6 bios all fantastic! |

Has pretty much all the capabilities you'd want in a board. It booted on the very first try. It comes with these lame ribbon SLI connectors that don't hold a connection. I went on the web to MSI and opened a support ticket to discover out if they had PCB based SLI connectors and their reply was to call their customer service. I did this and got transferred three times and nonetheless couldn't get an answer as to whether they have a PCB based SLI connector that would work with this board (Tech support kept saying PVC). Also, I can't get an after marketplace one mainly because the spacing in between 16x slots is not "standard". You would believe that for 跌 they would have made confident the "little points" would have been addressed a little greater. Also, OCing this board is becoming a genuine discomfort. None of the utils that came with the board will generate an OC. Will have to go by means of all the BIOS settings and do it manually now. Not that I don't know how, but it is just a huge hassle for a item that is supposed to have an "OC Genie" inside of it. Possibly I ought to rub it a small to see if that assists. I am glad this build isn't mine. I would have been seriously upset if I had spent 跌 on this and ran into these concerns. At times it is just the small issues that can ruin some thing. |

Love this mobo! OC Genie is just a oveclocker's dream. Dont bother with the OC dashboard though! Live Update is sweet. Updated BIOS with within windows eal quick and with no problems, just installing an update for a program! Able to turn off the mobo status lights (they are blue, and my them has all green). It looked out of location. On-board POST display is nice, but not in a spot easily noticed, even with the HAF 932 case! No USB 3. header. Other than that, no difficulties! MSI has alot of not so terrific (and unnecessary) programs on the discs. There was some "hinkiness" with this mobo and the Critical Ballistix Tracer 6GB RAM. At initially (and even following the BIOS update) it only recongized 8 of the 12GB i had installed. I rearranged the RAM int the slots and now it sees all 12GB. Don't know trigger of that... |

TO THE GUY BELOW ME TO THE GUY BELOW ME The reason you are receiving error code E8 is mainly because you probably have your ram in the blue slots. You are supposed to put them in the black slots very first. Read the manual lol, you shipped it back for nor reason -_-I had the same dilemma, the guys on the MSI boards told me to check manual. I looked at the manual and it stated you need to have to fill the black slots up first.Read my evaluation, MSI Major Bang Xpower. I also purchased this from NewEgg. Amazing board!!! |

Wow... what else to say. This board took my i7 930 to 4 Ghz effortlessly and it's rock solid stable. With some tweaking I am sitting at four.two Ghz and will soon be shooting for four.4 Ghz. This board has it all, quite considerably each feature you could ever use. You can pair it with some nice high speed RAM and hit 2000 Ghz on the RAM no dilemma flawlessly. Has a ton of additional connections to use, extra brackets, etc. and the USB 3 and SATA 6G are nice features. The OC Genie doesn't function that nicely; it boosted my QPI voltage levels into the red and only overclocked to three.4 Ghz which was slightly unstable (failed OCCT after 4.5 hours running overnight). To use both 8 pin motherboard power slots you're possibly going to will need a 1000w+ power supply; my Corsair 850 only had 1. As a heads up, most power supplies do not have dual 8 pin outputs that function with the motherboard 8 pin connector. I only have 1 of my 8 pin connectors filled, along with the 4 pin and 6 pin to keep my motherboard nice and juiced. DO NOT plug in a PCI-E 6 pin or 8 pin; for 1 factor it won't fit and for two if you make it fit you will have problems. 1 thing to note is that I ended up reinstalling windows 7 when I discovered that the BIOS had set SATA operation to IDE compatible mode by default; switching this to AHCI caused BSOD's, so I reinstalled and employed the CD that came with the motherboard for the AHCI drivers for the Marvell controller. Oddity of windows 7 is that it stated it couldn't install on the partition when I produced it, but what it was actually expecting was the windows 7 DVD to be re-inserted; when I did that, it worked flawlessly and now I have my SSD running off of the Marvell SATA (the white slots) as my main OS device. |

The BIOS update didn't aid at all. All of my hardware installed was removed from my other system which was running fine. I've ordered a EVGA motherboard that a friend of mine has. I even put my hardware on it and it posted on the initial try, and it installed Windows just fine. For my recent Pro-video editing System build, i got this mobo knowing full well of its reputation, which it didn't disappoint. This thing just uzzes quality, oC genie is an added bonus, got a mild OC or 3760 out of the 950 on first try, and left it there for 24hr operation and stability.I'm rarely impressed by hardware, but this thing is impressive, highly recommend it to serious gamers or oc enthusiasts. |

From a light-medium enthusiast, I see none so far.
Pros: Nice OCing mobo.OC Genie for those who prefer the quick method of OCing. (Not me.)Plenty of 16x slots. (Which I can use for 1x and 4x cards.)SATA 6Gs/s and USB 3.0 Comment:
I've been slowly getting more into OCing and this is the best board for that I have ever owned. I normally spend $130-$160ish on mobos. The BB Xpower definitely has more than enough features for me to play with in the BIOS. I've managed up to 4255MHz (H50 for cooling.)with my I7 950 but am currently running at 4025MHz due to a failed OC that corrupted Windows and just got messy. That is plenty for me seeing I saw a nice boost in some games.I'm very pleased with my purchase. |

MSI Big Bang-XPower ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:
-vQPI droops a LOT even with "Low VDroop" setting in bios-Bios Not relaly up to par yet-No support from 3rd party watercool manufacture(for North Bridge and MOSFET blocks)
Pros: -Overclockability-MANY features-OC Dashboard-(Beta) Bios updates Regularly Comment:
This is a great board. If you're looking for a good enthusiast mobo that rivals the Asus ROG, this will do it. It overclocks very well. My i7 950 is running 4.6ghz 24/7 with this board. There's a ton of features from this board, SATAIII, USB 3.0, voltage test-points, OC dashboard, 16 phase!!!, great software support. I know the price-tag might be alarming, but it's totally worth it, especially if you're an enthusiast. There are several quarks though. The voltage regulation is generally good except for the vQPI. It will droop about 0.1v at load (might sound little, but you'll know what I mean if you're an overclocker). This is the reason why my rig won't touch 5.0ghz. I can get it to 4.9, but the QPI voltage droops too much to get it any higher. Another thing is the Northbridge. I have not actually taken off the heatsink yet, but by all accounts, the thermal paste used is close to worthless. Changing it will decrease the temperature from an alarming 80-90c to 40c...This is still a relatively new board. It has had 3 revision (i believe), but there are still kinks MSI still need to work out from its bios. Hibernate is bugged...if you overclock it takes 5 min or more to boot into windows. Recent beta bios will not even sleep the computer. The bios interface has keyboard issues. Minor stuff, but it gets annoying after a while. Finally...since this is not the most popular board in the community, 3rd party watercooling manufactures have not, and probably will not, make custom waterblocks for this board. So if you want to watercool your northbridge and mosfets with a custom block specifically for this board, you're probably out of luck and will have to stick with the generic ones. All in all, there are problems, but they are all minor which I can live with. This is a great board, great support, great software and great performance. Highly recommended. |

Cons:
On-board sound is sub-par, even by "on-board standards"You probably won't use OC genie if buying this board
Pros: Awesome overclockervoltage read pointsSIX PCIE x16 slots! (not all able to run at 16x at same time) Comment:
I really love this board so far. The only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of a 5 is because of the sub-par on-board sound + sound card included. Sounds like I'm playing my video games inside a "tin can". I was able to customize an equalizer profile so it was more bearable. Perhaps its just me getting used to "new sounds" as I moved over from a 750i FTW LGA 755 mobo. Either way I will probably be buying a 3rd party sound card.I can safely say the mobo is not holding back any of my overclocking....My mobo is not my bottleneck for once! |

As it stands right now, I have only had this for 2 days now however I have had 0 problems, POSTed on first boot up.Picked up all of this with the board in one go:MSI Big Bang XPowerXFX Radeon HD 58506GB G.Skill DDR3 KitLanboy Air caseIntel X25 40GB SSDWD Green 1TBCorsair 1000W PSUCorsair H50Everything works well and the CPU sits b 30C when not really doing much at all. |
-Up to 4 way crossfire (bandwidth decreases after two though)-SATA 3. and USB 6Gb/s-Additional 8 pin and 6 pin inputs for added stability-Good quality parts-OC Dashboard is really handy when tweaking settings-OC Genie is good for a casual overclocker-More additional cables and adapters than I have ever received with any other mobo-Attractive too appear at without the extreme appear of some other boards -OC Genie is a small too conservative but that is just a private opinion-Northbridge is operating pretty hot I am incredibly pleased with this board. I replaced an ASUS P6X58D Premium (great board as well) only mainly because my 5870's had been too close together on that board and running too hot. I did not contemplate this board an upgrade but just a much better selection for me. Right after utilizing it, I really feel it was an upgrade. It overclocks at lower voltages and has been really stable. The OC Dashboard permits you to alter the BIOS settings as you benchmark and I really like it. The only con I think about critical to mention is the northbridge temps are in the 70c-80c range. It has maxed out at 84c. Supposedly nonetheless in the secure range according to Intel but too hot for me. I will be replacing the thermal paste to get temps that make me far more comfy. I didn't knock of an egg for that given that the temps are inside the acceptable range still.
