MSI GT70 0NC-002US Intel Core I7-3610QM 12GB 750GB 17.3in LED GTX670M 3GB DVDRW HDMI W7HP64 Notebook
Cons:No Intel VT-x option in bios. The drive has 2 partitions. Upgrading and voiding warranty sticker (no big deal read summary).
Pros:Good hardware that provide a nice gaming experience on the go (WoW , SWTOR , Skyrim), awesome keyboard and not that many bloatware. Comment:
My first MSI laptop and it surprised me pleasantly with a very good build quality. It work great as a gaming machine no question asked. However as a programmer I find the lack of VT-x a deal breaker, and so the 3 (barely) star rating. Without the VT-x issue I would have rating this laptop a solid 5 stars.About the voiding warranty sticker, I called MSI to inquire about the possibility of upgrading and warranty. The tech rep explained that warranty will be denied if stock components were damaged in anyway. |
Its a very good laptop overall, had no issue. However, there is no caddy for a second hard drive and you can't add mSata drives (the controler is not there for that model). Also there is no Windows 7 CD, but from an application on the computer, you can burn "system reset DVDs". However that windows installation is buggy, I reinstalled from a windows 7 DVD and the drivers from MSI's web site and I gained A LOT of speed... The bios is locked and you cant even enable virtualization, which is a problem for VMWare users. I still am very happy with that computer, but some may prefer the Asus's counterpart.
