Cons:I had to redo mostly all my drivershad issues with Intel SRT until i re installed the SRT softwareand you aparently void warantey by opening the expansion bay's to add memory or another hdd which i think is beyond ridiculous.The Drivers on the MSI page are mostly out of date.
Pros:nice screen good anglessolid I7 CPU770m performs wellexpansion bays inside are usable.will do 2nd hdd for ssd or ssd caching mode with intel SRT.the speakers work wellthe keyboard is nice. and some of the gaming features are nice aswell. such as disableing the touch pad Comment:
In summery I have this laptop running quite well now after spending time to redo my drivers.I had to void my warranty in order to add a 64gb cache drive which i think is beyond stupid but the unit boots and loads things like 10x quicker with the caching drive installed i had to update intel SRT because the laptop would stutter in video and game playback with the bundled srt driver/software dont ask me why.The sound card is not a X-fi sound card you only get the creative software and it runs a realtech sound card not a big deal as it sounds fine but its something i should specifyyou may have problems updating the 770m drivers this is a problem with certain driver releases you have to google to find the one that will let you install.after all thats said and done the laptop makes a fair on the move gaming rig the screen is nice and has good viewing angles and when you set the video to reasonable levels you get playable framerates at decent quality settings.the sound is good and semi adjustable with the sound blaster cinema software. |
Solid laptop. Screen is amazing. If you're planning to upgrade the ram be prepared to be annoyed, I had to remove the entire heatsink assembly to simply install two SODIMMs. Annoying. Other than that, great laptop!
