MSI H55-G43 ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:None.
Pros:- AMD/ATI CrossFireX support (reason why I bought this)- 16GB DDR3 RAM support- Intel LGA1156 socket (for my Core i5 750)- Goes into and wakes from standby in Windows 7 without issue- Many features- Affordable |
I purchased this motherboard from NCIX to upgrade from an Intel DH55HC motherboard I had, so that I could use AMD CrossFireX with my current PowerColor ATI Radeon HD5770 graphics card and another PowerColor Radeon HD5770 card that was recently given to me from an upgrade. There weren't many Intel LGA1156 socket motherboards at the time of writing of my review (as the newer LGA1155 has become the norm), so finding this really made me happy so I could keep my Core i5 750 processor. The price was also right, so I wasn't spending an arm and leg to upgrade my current computer.I replaced the Intel motherboard with this one, and it booted up right away. In Windows 7 the CrossFireX was picked up right away by the Catalyst Control Center, and so far it runs very well with no issues at all. I was also able to put my computer into standby and wake it up without issue, something my old DH55HC board couldn't do (black screen on wake requiring restart). My MSI H55-G43 motherboard came with the latest BIOS available at the time of writing (v1.6), and so far I have no issues whatsoever. Very satisfied to be running CrossFireX!
