MSI N550GTX-TI 950MHZ 1G-DDR5
Cons:Fan is quite audible when GPU is running at full load. In other words, it's loud.
Pros:950 MHz core speed out of the box is nice. Was able to squeeze another 75 MHz for a total of 1025 MHz core. Bought this specifically for use with Foldingvhome and Distributed Computing. For those interested, the 1025 MHz core produces just over 10,000 PPD in FvH. Comment:
Overclocked, the GTX 550 Ti manages to keep up with a GTX 460 with half the shaders. Granted the GTX 460 cards are capable overclockers themselves but I wasn't able to find one around the $100 mark. |
This card runs DiRT 3 at max settings in 1080p at 30~38fps & Rage in 1080p at 60fps+ all day long. I'd say this card is fast for what I paid for it. It gets a little loud when in game. Now about the Overclocking. It made the video card a little tiny bit faster. So I just returned to stock Factory OC speed & now it is a little slower then before I Overclocked it. So don't think about Overclocking this card. Leave it as is with Factory OC.
