MSI Radeon HD 5450 R5450-MD1GD3H/LP Video Card
Comment:
Quite versital in it's installation, comes with low profile brackets. Permits for VGA (D-sub 15), DVI, or HDMI connections. Rock solid business apps video card. Low expense. Not for gaming, how ever performs fine for standard games. Don't let the low WEI distract you. It's a low expense card, solid construct and style and extremely excellent for 90% of customers. Nevertheless 90% of customers most likely don't get upgrade elements from upgrade shops like Newegg. |

MSI Radeon HD 5450 R5450-MD1GD3H/LP Video Card
Comment:
Win 7 installed with no a hitch. Temp runs at around 115 F. Installed a fan on the heatsink and lowered the temp by 10 degrees. I'm not a gamer but it does DVDs and Netflix just fine Want the heat sink had a fan. All in all, I would purchase an additional one. |

MSI Radeon HD 5450 R5450-MD1GD3H/LP Video Card
Comment:
Installed in Win 7 64 bit method, show is fine in both RGB and HDMI modes, no challenge with ops. Interfaced with ASUS 22" LCD, appears good. I used the technique for function and on-line school mainly. Operating Win 7 technique test only yields four.2 efficiency rating. The major reason I bought the card was for MSI's reputation for great hardware and the lack of a fan on the video card. I have a quiet fan on the side of a Zalman Z7 case cooling it. |

MSI Radeon HD 5450 R5450-MD1GD3H/LP Video Card
Comment:
Very inexpensive card. Installation is incredibly simple and straight forward. Brought my WEI Ɨ) gaming score up to 6. I wanted to upgrade the video, and it is slightly much better for Netflix, and so forth (than the on-board 4250). It left my WEI company graphics at four.two, identical as it was. If you want an low-cost card that operates, this is it. Not a huge improvement more than the on-board, at least mine. General, good. |

MSI Radeon HD 5450 R5450-MD1GD3H/LP Video Card
Cons:None considering the price and what this is intended for
Pros:Passive cooling No extra power needed so great for a low budget office build Comment:
Bought this as a replacement for an office PC that had the onboard video failing. Had to be a card that ran just of the slot power as the PSU didn't have the extra connections. Considering the intended use this will serve well. |

MSI Radeon HD 5450 R5450-MD1GD3H/LP Video Card
Comment:
Quiet I purchased this for my mythTV HTPC and all of my video play back show lots of screen tearing. Turns out all of the ATI drivers (free and proprietary) suffer from this dilemma and do handle vsync at all. Tried a lot of solutions (drivers versions, adjusting RTC values, etc). Don't bother with ATI for HTPC on linux. I thought this card would function nicely with AMD's commitment to operating with the open source community, too poor this has been a _recognized_ issue since at least 2006 and it still isn't solved. I hate to purchase nVidia because they are terrible about their interaction with the kernel and Xorg community but I don't want to scrap my complete HTPC and the video play back is too negative to live with. |

The cost. Driver CD included with card it not is all that assist full. |
Tiny kind element, and no fan so no noise. Operates fantastic for an HTPC setup. I dont have this distinct card, I purchased the HIS version thats not sold anymore (its still a 5450 Cedar card with passive cooling), and it performs good. I figure this one particular is quite significantly the similar card with 512 far more memory so it really should be very good also. Im acquiring it for myself this time (shoulda gotten the HIS a single when it was selling, lead to it was ten bucks more affordable) Doesnt do gaming incredibly nicely, but you get what you spend for. This is totally a HTPC card, and for the value, does a fantastic job To Eric, regarding the Linux driver factor, if youre employing a distro like Ubuntu, you want to NOT install the proprietary driver that Ubuntu wants to. Rather, you want to download the driver for this direct from ATI. In the ATI Catalyst Control Panel, theres a "Tear Cost-free" setting. It functions good. So, if youre getting troubles with Linux and tearing, make confident you are employing the most current driver from ATI and the Tear Totally free setting fixes it. In my practical experience, ATI has Nvidia beat for Linux driver support appropriate now. I use Ubuntu ten.ten correct now and no concerns.
