Good quiet fans. Was hoping to flash and unlock shaders like all other HD6950s. Cannot be flashed to unlock shaders. Bios switch missing? Why MSI? If you are planning on unlocking shaders stay away from this card and get 1 with a reference cooler.

This card runs idle in my machine at 31-32C and beneath load playing WoW on ultra settings and Rift it was maxing out at 54C. Compare that to the GTX 285 for-the-win card I had which would spike 90C and artifact it's a dream come correct. I can't really think of any. The card looks incredible if appears matter (to me not so substantially).

Runs cool and quiet. My temperature is about 36 degrees F idle. Upgraded from a Radeon 3850 and is a large improvement. Installation was straightforward. None. The initial card I received was defective. Rma was speedy and painless. Got the new card about a week later with no challenges. Nice operating with newegg.

This can't be unlocked since it's not a reference style, but you can get the same performance with this card by overclocking AND not void your warranty or mess up your card.

- 2GB of Vram (good for multi-display)- Incredibly cool and rather thanks to MSi amazing gpu heatsink (Twin Frozr II).- Play most games above 60 fps at 1080p resolution- The card is very properly designed thanks to the high good quality components thanks MSi expertise. Newegg must hate me or anything. A couple days later proper right after I bought this card, the rebate kicks in... The same factor happened to me with my GTX 460, which i RMAed and got this 1.Also, I've noticed critique of the 1GB edition of this card and it's a bit more rapidly than the 2GB version, how is this achievable?! lol Overclock this beauty and you'll get a efficiency of the HD 6970 or more, based on how significantly you overclock it. I had to elevated the voltage a bit to get it stable at 950񳄶. I wonder what's the max overclock on this card without having touching voltage? Message to MSi: I freaking really like this GPU cooler/heatsink! I consider this is the best GPU heatsink ever created! You guys need to be proud of yourself.

Amazing deal when I got it ($230 after MIR). Out of the box, this card easily rips through all modern games, and can do so on multi-monitor setups due to the 2GM of VRam. It stays whisper quiet at load too, the fans never seem to go above 40%. My only gripe with this card is how poorly it overclocks. The highest stable clock I could reach with my card was 900/1325 (up from the stock 810/1250, at 1.175 V). The highest I've ever seen someone get it at stock voltage was 925/1350. Also, although the shaders on my card did unlock (had to flash to 6970 Twin-Frozr III), since the overclocking potential is so poor there is absolutely 0 point to unlocking the shaders. If you can get this card for below $250, do it, and you'll be extremely happy with the performance.

Hi, I recently bought this card to play some games like BF3 (run smooth at 1920X1080 High with AA 52 FPS +++). I am also using it to play the Diablo III beta, which run's totally smooth with vertical sync max out. The main disapointment for me was not being able to unlock shaders. I've seen some people have done it but their card was older version than the one I got about 1 month ago through NCIX. I was able to flash the bios so I could at least push the core/memory clock furter (I am now stable at 920 mHz CORE and 1350 memory). I would recommand that product for any person looking for a gaming cpu without spending too much (I got it with i5-2500k at 4.5 gHz with Gigabyte Z68-UD3H board).

Overall very happy with the card in the limited time ive owned it. Got it at a great 229% with MIR. The card hasn't seen over 55 degrees while gaming which is great; even with FurMark it was under 60 degrees and the fans stayed quiet. Using it with a 700W Cougar PS and no problems.

I got this card with the i5 2500k, its running bf3 and skyrim on all ultra settings and I haven't even OC'ed anything yet. Runs pretty cool and quiet, and I would recommend it. Only con is I heard its a bit harder to unlock the shaders or OC this version than it is the original but I haven't tried yet, no need to right now.

This is an excellently designed 6950 which is not reference design. It's a little bit trickier to unlock the shaders without the bios switch but doable. It seems to run ALOT quieter than my brother's 560 ti TF3.

If you're looking at this card, you fairly much know what they can do. This certain model has a good, heavy heatsink that makes it worth the premium more than the reference style. That cooler seriously is the bee's knees. Stock idles at 33C in my case, and with a full OC in Catalyst that jumps to 40C. Haven't performed a full stress test, but highest I've noticed temps go was 49C with the overclock. Fairly huge and heavy. Be cautious with it. Doesn't come with mounting screws, but not a major deal. Beautiful cards. I have two of them in Crossfire. The Frozr coolers are just cool to look at and not only are they sweet looking but they are near silent and carry out great. You cannot re-flash the BIOS of the these cards but I truly don't see why you would want to, they carry out excellent and you can overclock these cards to overall performance far better than a stock HD6970 and not have the noise or heat troubles. At load I have not noticed either card get more than 54C and generally they are running about 33C. I have a Cosmos 1000 case which is not the finest cooling case but these cards have no concerns keeping below normal temps in it. I have not discovered any cons with these video cards but. Considering that the pair outperforms a GTX590 for about 贶 much less I am very happy with my obtain. My cards ahead of these were 9800GTXs so I think in getting the finest bang for the buck whether or not it is AMD or Nvidia I don't care. One of the factors I have stayed away from some AMD cards is fan noise and heat, MSI extremely handily resolved each problems with the Frozr coolers and for less expensive than going out and buying similar aftermarket coolers.

This card is cooler, smaller, lighter, a lot quieter, and greater searching than reference style. My reference 6950 idled in the 60s, this 1 is in the high 30s, it is also a lot quieter than reference at both idle and load, but particularly at idle. Greatest of all it fits in the normal two slot config, so you can quickly run crossfire if necessary in the future without having overheating. It expenses a bit far more, but if you calculate the expense of an aftermarket cooler, its less complicated, more affordable, and will have greater resale than an aftermarket cooler. Can't bios flash it to a 6970 supposedly, not certain and don't care, it runs everything plenty rapidly for me. SC2 at max settings in CCC 40fps. If you don't care about temps or noise then save some funds and get a reference card, otherwise this is the card to get.
