MSI Video Card N520GT-MD1GD3 LP 1GB DDR3 64Bit HDMI DVII VGA HDCP Retail
Cons:Mail in rebate is slow, even though they have good tracking system in place.
Pros:VGA output, DVI output, HDMI output Comment:
Ok so GeForce GT 520 is supposedly the lower end graphics one released by Nvida in 2011.I wanted a Graphics Card that had CUDA, so I went with this one.The higher end version released by Nvida in 2011 was GTX 560 Ti.I chose 2011 as I did not want lose Driver Updates when the Windows 9 or 10 comes out.If you want to do Multi-monitor set up for office related tasks, this one has a DVI output, VGA output, and HDMI output.I was able to set up 3 monitors right now like this:1st Monitor: VGA output2nd Monitor: DVI output3rd Monitor: connects to the integrated graphics (i.e. Intel Core i3 2100) VGA output, which was using MSI H67MA-E45 (B3) H67 motherboard (you have to go into BIOS settings to enable Integrated Graphics of the CPU)MIR rebate is slow, even though they have good tracking system in place. I am supposed to wait 8-12 weeks even though they approved my claim last month, for me to receive it. So I am still waiting for that. |

MSI Video Card N520GT-MD1GD3 LP 1GB DDR3 64Bit HDMI DVII VGA HDCP Retail
Cons:Fan can be noisy
Pros:Cheap and decent card for an office machine Comment:
I wanted to update my mom/brother's computer with some of my old parts but realized that the mobo doesn't have onboard video. This card with the $20 rebate made it a cheap card to install and get the system up and running, also allowing enough juice to play some non-intensive games with ease, perfect for their needs. |

MSI Video Card N520GT-MD1GD3 LP 1GB DDR3 64Bit HDMI DVII VGA HDCP Retail
Cons:- Fan is relatively loud (could just be my unit).- MSI utility does not allow for a fan speed lower than 40rpm.
Pros:- NVIDIA: no need for .net for driver installation.- Cheap (especially with price matching to $49.99 and MIR).- HDMI output to home theatre system.- Low-profile bracket included.- PureVideo 5 support. Comment:
Great card for HTPC at this price point. Could just be my unit, but the fan is relatively loud, given that you can hear a buzzing noise during quiet parts of movies. Recommend this only for HTPC set-ups and very light (or classic) gaming - performance lags when playing FPS or other graphics-intensive games. |
I had bought this card in order to update my older Nvidia Geforce 9800 GT2 1gb card, though it seemed to have more issues than my older card when installed. I am thinking it may be due to it's compact size that some features of the card are not as good as the full size of others. I may use this card for a second computer/server, though my old card is good enough I suppose. Overall, I would say it is satisfactory considering the price of the product.
