MSI Z77 Mpower ATX LGA1155 Z77 DDR3 3PCI-E16 4PCI-E1 SATA3 DVI HDMI VGA SLI USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:Runs hotter compare to Maximus V GeneUSB 3.0 port was on/off constant
Pros:Looks goodOC to 4.6 as promised Comment:
I wanted ATX to replace my mATX Maximus V Gene in hopes to CF Arctic Cooler installed 7970s. This mobo ran hotter than mATX I have and Front USB panel would not work on both or one depending on the situation. I wish MSI designed USB header port like ASUS rather than on the side. I RMA for refund yesterday. I had similar experience wrt USB header from MSI GD80 which is in my GF's build and had to use 3.0 to 2.0 adapter. |

MSI Z77 Mpower ATX LGA1155 Z77 DDR3 3PCI-E16 4PCI-E1 SATA3 DVI HDMI VGA SLI USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:No Voffset setting in BIOS.Not Intel NIC.
Pros:Price. Durability (9-Layer PCB, good VRMs, SS capacitors). No DVI or VGA ports on the back (HDMI_+ DP ports, dual display ready).On-board sound uses one of the higher-end Realtek chips.Smooth install, Win7 up and running in minutes with SD. Comment:
Five fan connectors, all with adjustable speed for 3-pin or 4-pin fans. Fan control options are little basic in the bios, but latest Speedfan does the trick.Pretty board, but lots of LED indicators that might bother (or not?) on a case with windows.Included SATA cables (four) are nice, black with white connectors. 90-degree one end and latching both ends, just a little too rigid.XMP setting worked right away with 2x8 GB Mushkin CL9 Blacklines. Not overclocking. Not using the Wifi or BT. Using old MSI 460GT graphics card in the 16x PCIE slot.Using TOSLINK with external DAC for sound. There was some noise at maximum volume with headphones, but was easily fixed by selecting 24-bit sound instead of the default 16-bit.Came with version 17.5 bios (Nov 2012).VRM heat-pipe seems to be painted black and there is no sign of piping kinks as per earlier reports. |

MSI Z77 Mpower ATX LGA1155 Z77 DDR3 3PCI-E16 4PCI-E1 SATA3 DVI HDMI VGA SLI USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:none
Pros:Great price, great board, hand tested, gorgeous, fully featured. Comment:
For a hand-tested top of the line board, the price can't be beat.MSI has really out done themselves and I couldn't be happier, this thing is gorgeous, if stability is on your priority list then this board should probably be your first choice.EDIT:I need to add that the virtu MVP is absolutely useless for gaming. Causes more problems that it does any good, I noticed a bizarre sort of jittering in the few games that didn't just outright crash. uninstalled and disabled at the BIOS, stick to discrete graphics. Absolutely love this MOBO. The OCGenie is amazing and ramped up my stuff pretty fast and with stability. Have not had a single issue with it and can't foresee me having any either. Great purchase on sale.
