MadCatz Cyborg R.A.T. 5 5600 DPI Laser Gaming Mouse PC/MAC Compatible - Matte Black
Cons:Not long enough in the body for wrist support. Sides do not expand enough for large handed people. I still have to squeeze my palm to pick it up.
Pros:Expandable size for med to large handed people. Easier to move than a smaller mouse. It's easier to hold on to and pick up. Comment:
Looking for a good wired gaming mouse with high DPI to use along side my good wireless mouse. I found this one on sale for a good price. It's not always the price. I need a mouse that I can use for long periods of time. I have very large and above normal hand strength. Not bragging just work with my hands a lot and bottom out every handshake machine I have come across. These extra large hands have to spend the time folded in half at the palm trying to hold these smaller mice. After a little while I get hand cramps from holding in an abnormal way. Also the small length of mice makes it so i have to suspend my wrist. If they would just let you rest you wrist on some padding on the rear of the mouse. Mice need a thumb strap or ring so you don't need to squeeze your palm together to pick it up. A mouse shaped like the palm of a glove that is angled for support so your hand and wrist a sitting at more natural positions. I'm still waiting. |

MadCatz Cyborg R.A.T. 5 5600 DPI Laser Gaming Mouse PC/MAC Compatible - Matte Black
Cons:They just don't last, expensive.
Pros:Looks cool, adjustable, nice wheel action, thumb support Comment:
I had a RAT3..no problems (its my backup now). I had a RAT7 loved it until the y axis went stupid and got progressively worse until was unusable, so it lasted a month from start of problems to 3 months when I tossed it out a window. Bought a RAT5 recently...3 weeks in and I'm having same problems...Ive no interest in chasing warranties so when this one dies ...I'm done with MadCatz products. |

MadCatz Cyborg R.A.T. 5 5600 DPI Laser Gaming Mouse PC/MAC Compatible - Matte Black
Cons:Precision ModeHorrible Z-Axis Tracking
Pros:Sleek Design and FinishDurable CableReliable Mouse ClicksAdjustable Palm Rest3 Different Profiles4 DPI settingsSturdy Metal FrameAdjustable Weights Comment:
I bought this mouse while trying to look for a replacement for my World of Warcraft Cataclysm Steelseries mouse(the round palm area made it tolling to grip after hours of usage). So naturally I looked for the most rigid looking mouse I could find: The R.A.T. series by Mad-Catz.The mouse itself was VERY sturdy and felt durable. The finish on the mouse made it very hard to scratch and would not absorb sweat easily. The cable of the is also very durable. However, aside from this, the R.A.T.5 has two very notable flaws. The first being that the right click seems to be rather loose (if you lift the mouse and gently put it back down on the table sometimes a right click would register due to the force). The second and most major flaw would be its horrible z-axis tracking. When you lift the mouse up often the cursor would drift to one side of the screen instantly making it very frustrating for dedicated gaming use. Finally, the precision aiming is a feature that is rather useless for anything aside from FPS. In a nutshell: holding the button down just reduces your mouse speed. the button is also rather rigid to press making it hard to use reliably at first.Overall the R.A.T. 5 is a decent mouse for those who can overlook its issues. However, It is definitely not a reliable hardcore gaming mouse. |

MadCatz Cyborg R.A.T. 5 5600 DPI Laser Gaming Mouse PC/MAC Compatible - Matte Black
Cons:Aluminum frame bends over time, making your mouse clicks jumpNot made with big hands in mind.
Pros:-Very customizable, comes with different attachments-Looks cool Comment:
Fell in love with the mouse as soon as I saw it in maximum PC. Very stylish, it worked well for the first 18 months, then the sensor starting to lose track occasionally while gaming, VERY frustrating. Eventually the frame also started to bend from repeated lifting and lowering the mouse on the pad. This caused it to wobble when mouse clicking, making your cursor jump. Very innovative mouse but unfortunately, had quite a few problems. |

MadCatz Cyborg R.A.T. 5 5600 DPI Laser Gaming Mouse PC/MAC Compatible - Matte Black
Cons:-Needs adaptation.
Pros:-Feels very sturdy.-Kind of a ruberized coating - Which is feeling super good.-Very good looking.-Nice features. Comment:
I had this mouse for a bit now and it is a really good one. Came super fast and in a perfect condition. The only small issue I had is when you (for the first time)have your hand on it for a bit you would put a little weight on the bottom and the front of the mouse would lift for like a millimeter and the cursor lag a bit because the sensor is not 100% touching the pad. But, just another hand position would fix the problem perfectly. Bottom line:It is a really good mouse. |
Only used this mouse to game for roughly a month and the left click now double-clicks everytime i click "once". The scroll wheel started squeaking about a week of usage but it was not a bother for me until the double-clicking happened.DO NOT BUY THIS MOUSE! It's a waste of time and there are other mouses out there that will last you longer than this one!Thankfully costumer care dealt with this and made things easy for me so thanks NCIX!
