Well this thing caused my system to go buggy
Comment:
Using MSI 945pl neo board. When I added this in the PCI-E slot, Windows XP took a dump. Ubuntu v9 booted ok but now NIC and Audio Card no longer working or visible in system. Not very happy with this product. |

It works!
Comment:
The shortcoming of low end motherboards is available connections. This is a low cost yet effective method of getting what I really need in my computer. The only down side was that once received I found that I did NOT have a PCI-Express card. That was solved by taking a chance and plugging the card into the AGP slot that wasn't needed because the motherboard card answers my needs. It looked like it would work. To my amazement and pleasure, I was right. It just plain did the job. Really nice solution. |

Works Great
Comment:
The card worked exactly as it should; the half height bracket was a necessity in my application and changing the bracket is a piece of cake. |

Decent card for the price
Comment:
I hooked this card up as a second SATA controller. The primary controller is on the motherboard. Only problem was that Slot 0 on this card interfered with Slot 0 on the motherboard. It may be my fault but, I just moved the connector to Slot 1 and it works great. |

Not Well-Suited for Vista or Win7 64-bit OSs
Comment:
Worked well in WinXP 32-bit. Serious difficulties with clean installs of both Vista (64) and Win7 (64) - finally surrendered and went with another brand and it works great. |

Good Flexible SATA Interface
Comment:
The card was easy to install mechanically and the option of internal and external SATA connections as well as the IDE interface gives the user a lot of flexibility. The driver CD could be a challenge if you ever lose the documentation. It appears to be a generic collection of drivers for all sorts of things. Without the documentation, it is not obvious which driver is for this card. |

Much better than USB for an external drive
Comment:
Simple to install. I left the jumpers set to default - internal SATA and then attached to a combined flash card reader, usb ports, firewire and ESATA in a 5.25 bay. My motherboard lacked hot swapping for SATA which this board provided. |

Works great. Tight fit.
Comment:
Does what it should with no fuss. The opening for the cable is a tad tight. |

Good overall value, average performance
Comment:
The card installed quickly, but immediately go and get the latest firmware from jmicron or you will get a system hang about every 5 minutes as the controller polls the external disks. The jmicron site is difficult to navigate but i was finally able to flash the card bios with the latest firmware which solved the hanging problem. Otherwise the card functions well. You don't get 5 simultaneous port as with most of these controllers, you may only use 2 of the sata ports at a time, either external, internal or one of each. |

Masscool PCE-SA450 SATA/IDE Controller Card - PCI-Express x1, 2 Internal SATA Ports, 2 eSATA Ports, 1 Internal EIDE Port, Low Profile
Comment:
The device works really well. It has 4 ports, but you can use only two at a time - 2 internal OR 2 external OR 1 of each. Default is 2 internal. I can't imagine why you would buy a card to acquire external eSATA ports if you really wanted internal ports, but then I'm not Chinese. If you want external ports (the reason you bought the card), you will spend your weekend using Zen relaxation techniques and a magnifying glass and tweezers to change the arrangement of 8 bonsai jumpers according to the pattern printed sideways in the Chinese technobable instruction pamphlet. Consulting the instruction pamphlet for any reason other than jumper arrangement will place you and your computer in dire peril. Well... like I said, the device works really well and I'm glad I bought it. |

Masscool PCE-SA450 SATA/IDE Controller Card - PCI-Express x1, 2 Internal SATA Ports, 2 eSATA Ports, 1 Internal EIDE Port, Low Profile
Comment:
please note that it is only a 2 channel sata card. you have to choose between the internal and external channels. ie 2 internal, or 2 external, or 1 internal 1 external. |

Masscool PCE-SA450 SATA/IDE Controller Card - PCI-Express x1, 2 Internal SATA Ports, 2 eSATA Ports, 1 Internal EIDE Port, Low Profile
Comment:
Awesome card, good support. Did everything as advertised and more. It accepted my old Raid from Asus Raid chipset. Go ahead and find another board that does that. I love this card and the Jmicron support. Due to my paranoia, I thoroughly tested the board and worked flawlessly. this is a must have. |
Our R300 had an available PCI-E slot. This card worked where a Silicon Image 3132 wasn't recognized
