Cons:Slow, super slow, super super slow, UBER slow!
Pros:Hardware encryption, sexy Comment:
I returned it after 3 days... took me 8 hours to backup 180 gigs... normal speed on a 5400 rpm is around 1gig/min... I bought a Seagate FreeAgent and it's just perfect. |

Maxtor BlackArmor STM903203BAA1E1-RK 320GB 5400 RPM External Hard Drive - Retail
Cons:1.Cable will be too short for usage on desktops, but just perfect for laptop users.2.Shiny bottom part is one of the worst fingerprint magnet I ever saw.
Pros:1.Gorgeous Design, Better than on picture.2.Excellent Software bundle.3.Excellent data encryption.4.Very Good Performance Overall Comment:
This HDD is worth EVERY penny (Got it on sale). The design is absolutely beautiful, people always look at it while I use it in class and some even compliment on it, it looks a lot better than on picture and is also smaller than what you think. I just love the professional look of it. Also, you can't get any simpler software suite than the one that comes with this hard drive, it doesn't come with sluggish and bloatwares or anything. It's extremely easy to use and very well designed. The performance is also excellent.I'm happy with my purchase and thank god I didn't go with the WD Passport, I'm just in love with this one. |
In 10 months, I had 2 failures and onto my 3rd drive now. The the previous drives were working fine but the supplied Maxtor software said it had failure. One edge of the shiny surface turned brown on the 1st drive so I presume the circuit broad just cooked? My same ago NESO/Hitachi 2.5" USB 500GB have been used no less often but still working fine. The good news is that the warranty exchange was painless and fast, though costed me almost $20 on each return. I have never had so many failure on any drives in 20 years. Not impressed.
