Cons:Raid1 takes a long time to build for the 1st time. Must open the case to replace a drive (no hot-swap), Manual (instruction) could be a little more complete.

Overall this is a good external dual-bay. I could'nt find any review when I bought it, so I took the risk and Im satisfied. It does what it's supposed to do and at a great price. It's plugged in my Apple Airport Extreme to share over my network, and it's fast. Raid1 took a long time to build for the 1st time, it took more than 10 hours (2x750). I feared that it wasnt working properly, but you just need to give it time to complete. I didn't test the other mode, Raid 0 and JBOD, only Raid1 and it's working good. If you want something affordable this is the one to get. IF you just one the best thing out there, then look elsewhere cause Im sure there's plenty of better dual-bay raid case. |
Very disappointed,. I bought this with 2 1.5TB Western Digital drives in order to mirror them. In single mode (2 x 1.5TB showing as 2 drives), the enclosure works fine, but in mirror mode, it only sees 800GB. Totally useless for me :(
