Microsoft 4CH-00012 Aluminium Bluetooth Wireless Laser Mouse 8000

I purchased this mouse to go with my new Macbook Pro, because I was looking for a full sized bluetooth mouse. While it had been a while since I had last owned a Microsoft mouse, reviews on the web were generally fairly favorable, so I decided to go with this one. My biggest concern was that I would not be able to get it to work with the MBPs built in bluetooth.Unfortunately while I was able to get this to work, the tracking was so poor as to be unusable. Even using alternative mouse drivers I could not get it to work reliably enough even for day-to-day browsing and email work. A possible explanation I found is that because Microsoft chose to equip the mouse with only one battery, they had to reduce the tracking resolution to give it a reasonable life; this makes sense, as they provide a slider to control resolution in their preference pane, which had little effect for me.While in Bootcamp the mouse performed fairly adequately, though still not as well as I would expect from a product in this price range. I most definitely do not recommend this mouse, and am RMAing it.
