Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack
Cons:- Compatibility With Older Software.- What, No XP Classic Mode?????

Pros:- More Stable Than Vista.- Had Drivers For ALL Of My Input Devices & Hardware.- A Decent Jump From XP To Windows 7 (Used Vista 64 - Horrible).
Comment:
I had Windows XP From 2002 till 2009 - 7 years. I bought Vista 64 SP2 thinking that most of the bugs had been worked out, closely watching the forums to see what the overall feelings were after SP2. I had Vista on my computer for three months when I made the leap to Windows 7. Stability was the main reason - I found Vista to be not the most stable, even though my hardware I was using in my tower was one year old, and that Vista had been out for a while). Windows 7 recognized all of my hardware including my DLink DWA-552 card, and ran like a charm. It has yet to crash, and after a month of using it, I am confident thus far that I will be upgrading other computers to Windows 7 64 bit. Sure some old software may have trouble, but I didn't get the professional version solely due to the fact that I would be updating that software with newer versions anyway that would be compatible with Windows 7.In short, I normally wait until the first Service Pack is released before I upgrade OS', but in this case I lept on it a week after it came out, and I have been happy with it ever since.Took me a while to get used to it though, as I was realy used to using XP.Make the leap - I'm glad I did.

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack
Cons:none atm

Pros:Looks amazingEasy to get the hang of itWorks great even with 2GB ram
Comment:
I built my own system around this. Had some bad problems with install but it was hardware related. Had to RMA my 4gb ram kit so I am currently using 2gb kit. This Runs fast even with 2gb of ram. I am more than satisfied with this OS. Hearing all the hype I didnt think it would live up to it, but it did. 5 Stars!!

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack
Cons:-No "Local Users and Groups" in the local management menu!-Not able to join a domain (not really a big deal for home users, but may be a problem for work and mobile users).-Lacks windowsXP mode. (But may not be a problem.)-More advanced/power users may want to spend a little more for professional.

Pros:-Stable, has yet to crash on me, and that includes the RC1 to!-Easy to use. Much easier to manage multiple windows.-Tad cheaper than previous basic versions of windows.-Simplified home network setup. (for those who struggle creating a windows home network... that is also secure as well as functional)-A few major and many smaller new features, both on the surface and under the hood, like aero shake and aero peak to better support for SSDs and DirectX11.
Comment:
The beta, the RC1 and this release have all been stable and I have experienced no compatibility issues with drivers or software. Although to me Windows 7 looks like a modified version of Vista, it is much more refined and is even easier to use to novice computer users. managing windows, and home networking are much easier. Doesnt burn a hole in your wallet either. Plenty of new features. But on the flip side, Home premium doesnt have "Local Users and Groups" and lacks the ability to join a domain. This version also has no windowsXP mode, although this is countered by the fact that compatibility mode should suffice in most cases. All in all, a good buy for a home user, HTPC, second home computer, or a non-work laptop that does not need to connect to a domain. If your an advanced user.. a little extra for professional will be worth it. This review was modfied by poster q 11-23-09 04:44 AM This review was modfied by poster @ 11-23-09 04:10 AM

Cons:- No warranty but who needs that

Pros:- Very nice and slick operating system- Easy installation- Good price- Comes with a box and everything
Comment:
So I bought this for a new build. I originally was using the RTM and soon made the upgrade to the full version after seeing how easy to use and quick this new operating system is. Everything loads faster than vista and provides a whole lot of customizable features. Would definitely recommend.

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack
Cons:-not much different than Vista -barebones OS; Windows Live software is not easily found for newbies, and is hit and miss when downloaded

Pros:-fast and stable-desktop refinements are nice-few problems with drivers or old software -good networking-easy installation
Comment:
This is a fast and stable OS, but, then again, I've had the same experience with Vista 64 bit Premium, which I've run for 2 years. This is an excellent upgrade for XP users, but for people happy with Vista, there is no rush...............Dual Core Intel 2.5ghz / 8 gigs ram / 9600GT

Great design and Microsoft don't always go together, but they do in Windows 7. Some users might take a while to get used to the new taskbar and Aero Peek, but they're a pleasure to use. Much better alternative/upgrade to Vista.

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack
Cons:* Forced Me To update  To New Live Messenger, The New One Sucks.* I Needed To Download DirectX 9.0c* I'm Sure There Are More... Happy Little Microsoft Surprises Waiting To Greet Me.

Pros:* Very Slick* Very Snappy* Redesigned GUI* Better Default UAC * Better Default SuperFetch* Better Default Indexing (OFF)
Comment:
Well there have been TONS of things written about W7, so much that I won't repeat it all here but rather give my initial impressions.Firstly, I am coming off of XP SP3. I skipped Vista altogether but did use it on others' computers.Initial Feel:I like themes, but there are a lack of ones that I like right now. The whole way of doing themes is *very* different. Which is ok, because it was time for a change. The initial option to download the official ones provides a good start but I'll need to see a bunch more or create  my own to get it just right. The new task bar is really handy. Pinning items, Win + # to open stuff. It's great. Only hiccup has been the new Live Messenger which will always leave open a window on the bar, but there is a workaround for it so it's all good. (Run in Vista Compatibility mode).Aero Snap is increasingly neat. I didn't start by using it, but now it's becoming second nature.Overall snappiness of the OS is great, very quick and very slick. It's rather slim, the superfetch has been tweaked to not be as aggressive so that should help with uninformed users' complaints about resource use. The UAC has been toned down a bit, which I like, even though it's a bit less secure.Overall I am very pleased and I think W7 is a great upgrade as well as an excellent Operating System.

Comment:
I didnt really notice a difference from Vista 64bit SP2 to Windows 7. The speed is the same. The taskbar is nicer and allows me to not have icons on desktop. I do like the Snap feature....other then that, Vista SP2 was just as good.

I tried the RC of windows 7 and then purchased it. I cannot belive that I a acctully saying this ... but this may be the best windows ever. There were no driver issues with any of my old hardware, it even found all of them. Does the 64 bit edition ever make a speed differance. One and a half thumbs up( I cannot give a windows prouct 2)

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack
Cons:Tendency to lag/hang during installation if not placed in an older computer's master optical drive.

Pros:Backwards compatibilityAble to run prior versions of Windows via Virtual Mode (as this is not Pro/Ultimate, you will need a legitimate copy of XP).No driver installation needed. Everything working in x64 mode.
Comment:
I've been running Windows 7 RC since it came out, and was impressed enough to buy a couple copies once released.Unsurprisingly, it works wonders on my Intel Core2Quad 8400 machine with 8gb ram.To my surprise however, my AMD Athlon/Barton 2600 with 512 ram was also noticably faster while running Windows 7.Also, I was frustrated with my new Macbook Pro's OS's (Snow Leopard) tendency to freeze and crash that I am now running Windows 7 on it exclusively, via Bootcamp.I am extremely impressed by Windows 7's stability, its ease of use and highly recommend it.

This is what Vista should have been. 64 bit is the way to go, as long as you have a least 4GB of Ram and a Quad CPU. This review was modfied by poster y 11-04-09 03:02 PM This review was modfied by poster @ 11-04-09 03:27 PM

Cons:- PriceI guess it could be a bit cheaper, but on the other hand a single PC game sometimes cost as much, so it is not that bad to spend ~$100 every 5 years or so.

Pros:- Faster, much more responsive than Windows XP- Great UI
Comment:
I had XP pro running on AMD athlon dual core 3800+ motherboard with 2GB RAM and then I installed Windows 7. I can say that I am VERY pleased with Windows 7. The computer is so much more responsive and the UI has many great improvements. Finally, I have a great replacement for my aging Windows XP.

Cons:OEM version does not come with the Windows 7 sticker (Like the Intel Inside sticker) to put on the front of your PC. It does have the label with the seriel number of course.

Pros:Easy to install, easy to use, fast, clean, beautiful
Comment:
I have also used Windows 7 since it's early days. In all fairness to Microsoft, Vista was greatly improved over the last two years however Windows 7 is muh more refined. I have upgraded the OS on my Dell XPS M1330 Laptop. All drivers were installed by Windows with the exception of the system drivers (chipset) and trackpad. They were both easy to locate, download, and install. Very Happy with the product. I only with it came with the Windows 7 logo sticker. I had to take the Vista sticker off of my laptop. Now the Core 2 Duo sticker is all alone.

Cons:I don't think there's anything I can think of that is worth mentioning

Pros:StableEasy to installNice interfaceOEM pricing is decentRuns very well on older machinesA lot of driver support, have yet to find anything that does not have a Windows 7 driver.
Comment:
I have used the RC7100 build for months and have yet to run into any sort of real issue with Windows 7. The OEM version is a great deal at around $115. One small note, on the packaging of this product it says you must use an OPK (Operating system installation kit). I didn't have to use anything of the sort to get it going. I rebooted from DVD and formatted as you would with any other Windows OS. I didn't need any special software or downloads to install this to my PC.I have an 80GB SSD with 74.4G formatted space, once I disabled the pagefile and hibernation I sit at around 65.4GB free.I will update  this review as I can think of more to add to it, but for the time being I will highly recommend you buy Windows 7. Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack
Cons:Some software incompatibilities (Daemon tools, Alcohol 120%....). New interface is at first confusing for new users. Cluttered control panel.

Pros:Very fast and stable. Long beta testing ensured good compatibility / stability. Ne w interface is very nice and intuitive (albeit a bit copied from Mac OS and KDE, but whatever).
Comment:
Been using Windows 7 since the early beta's. Used it as my main OS since the RC came out. Amazing evolution from Vista. Boots fast, lower footprint, better multitasking, less annoying than Vista.... New interface is terrific, good attention to detail.
