Mushkin Ridgeback 4GB 2X2GB PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 CL6-8-6-24 240PIN Dual Channel Memory Kit
Cons:
Was running at specs for a while. Recently had to downclock it at 15xx mhz 6-8-6 e 1.65 volts due to failure to boot from a failure overclock supposedly.
Pros: High quality performance ram for amd platforms (built for intel, however) |

Mushkin Ridgeback 4GB 2X2GB PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 CL6-8-6-24 240PIN Dual Channel Memory Kit
Cons:
The heatsinks are, by design, not bonded really strongly to the RAM module. I've a small number of posts that they felt loose, or lifted right off, however, according to a forum post I read by a Mushkin rep, that vulnerability was a design trade-off for the better thermal properties of the chosen adhesive. When installing them, you should be aware they can pull off relatively easily. If they seem loose, Mushkin will quickly replace them without cost or fuss. This issue seems rare (I saw but one omelette post, and one OC forum post).
Pros: Among the very best CAS 6 1600mhz DDR3 RAM you can buy, period. No brainer when on sale below $120, which has happened a few times lately. Mushkin support reputation is without peer. I posted a question about these Ridgebacks in a popular OC'ing forum one day, and minutes later I got a really helpful reply. It was a Mushkin rep. Comment:
No trouble getting this to run at 1600, 6-8-6-20-26, 1.65v, even on this very modest AM3 board (870A-UD3). I read that nudging the NB frequency upward a little to 2400 or 2600 is required for DDR3 RAM to run stably this fast on this board. That was all it took. For what it's worth, I had no idea what "BIOS" settings were until about eight weeks ago. Yeah, I know: Then, why the heck did I buy upper tier RAM , like the Ridgebacks--merely for nerd cachet? Truthfully? No. Did I buy them because my Heinz57 dog is part Ridgeback? Yeah, possibly. Luckily, they also happened to be the most strongly recommended CAS 6 1600mhz DDR3 for AMD boards, tied in recommendations with the G.skill PIs. I prefer to think I bought them because of those recommendations, plus Mushkin's legendary support, combined with a fortuitous NCIX sale. But there remains an outside chance it was all because of my dog. |

I bought this ram because of the lifetime warranty and good reviews. It surprisingly just fits under a Noctua NH-14.This ram was easy to install and I had no issues installing it. I would recommend it to anyone. |
