Runs cool, quick, no bulky heat spreader needed, burns through memtest86+ with no troubles, so I'm perfectly pleased. Maybe not the fastest memory, but that's not what I'm shooting for. Excellent cost. Fantastic bang for the buck. |

4 gigs for .00 is a good deal. Poor reliablity. I purchased two kits. A single stick was DOA, the other 3 died shortly thereafter. I purchased some Corsair XMS instead. MOBO is a GIGABYTE GA-EP45-DS3R. |

I have 8GB memory on ASUS P5E WS Pro with QX9650 OC'ed to 3.8 MHz on air cooling, (just set bus to 425 MHz) Memory runs error free at 1700 MHz at five-5-5-18 and is inexpensive. 90+ days soon after the acquire Mushkin nevertheless has not sent my rebate for 2 sets. Make your choice of memory assuming Muskin will also stiff you on any rebate. 8Gb is excessive even for Vista 64 Ultimate, had I recognized 4 GB would be plenty of memory. Or maybe four GB now and four GB later if you genuinely will need it. As often Newegg is the ideal. |

Update to my preceding review: functions fine now with each sticks. No complaints. None. Dilemma was, in reality, and problem with the mobo. (I had to change the DRAM Voltage to 1.9 and the MCH core Voltage to 1.3 in the BIOS to get the mem to function with the board.) Working like a champ now. |

voltage and timing modifications perform ok 64 bit os and two slot MB will only run in single channel been running this at four-four-four-12 at two.15 volts with no problems. MB has no way to set 8bit back and forth from cpu to Sb to 16 bit to run dual channel |

This ram seemed like a good deal for spending budget ram.NewEgg was wonderful in the situation. Consumer support altered my RMA to a refund and issued me a shipping label as well as a prompt refund. When it arrived I installed it an right away knew some thing was incorrect. It showed up as half the size. I installed in a different pc and saw the similar factor. Confirmed with Mushkin tech assistance by way of CPU-Z that the SPD was for a entirely unique stick of ram and that I would want to rma it. Check the memory the day it arrives, I would expect that given that I ordered two sets of this there are much more out there with the exact same problem. |

Cheap, stable and mushkin stands behind their goods. My board only makes it possible for me to directly manipulate the CAS latency, so I can't get the right five-5-five-12 timings, but with 8GB the minor speed boost of the more quickly timings really doesn't matter to me. My board is an ECS A770M-A, and it's a wonderful bargain for the cost. |

Runs at 1.8v @ 800MHzSomewhat cool and wants no heatspreaderIt was โ with the rebate for a 4GB kit The RAM I was sent is very unreliable due to errors.Low CAS timings, but for โ it's still a fantastic deal. I purchased this kit along with an Athlon64 X2 , and a 700Watt OCZ GameXstreme. I put every thing together properly and it posted fine. I rebooted the method and it lasted a entire 5 minutes just before it crashed.I ran the prime95 tension test for 1 minute after that and it already generated an error. Then I put in my old RAM to check if it was my processor or RAM, ran Prime95 once more and had no challenge. This RAM is in all probability quite superior if they send you a working kit. I'm incredibly disappointed with Mushkin on this 1, and will RMA this for a refund given that I'm no longer eligible for the rebate. |

Price is wonderful! Popped the sticks in and the pc booted appropriate up. Haven't had any problems with the memory but. none I was debating on getting the similar kit with the heat spreaders but there were out of stock when I was ordering; plus I wanted to make sure I got in on the rebate. But the heat spreaders aren't actually needed because I wont be overclocking. |

No want for heatsinks. Runs cool and rapidly. None I wish NewEgg sold 4GB DIMMS. I'm gonna require to contact Mushkin for support adjusting timings on my GIGABYTE GA-MA69GM-S2H motherboard to get five-5-5-12. |

I can't update my last assessment, but I want to add this further info:Gigabyte boards can access advanced settings such as memory timings by pressing CTRL+F1 although in the BIOS screen, although this is a hidden feature that is not documented in the BIOS screen itself. As soon as I did that, I set the timing manually at 5-five-5-12, and ran MemTest (http://hcidesign.com/memtest/) for a couple hours, with errors. So, it appears to run at 5-five-five-12 OK. Sadly, the SPD is indeed set at five-five-five-18. So the RAM is rated at five-five-5-18, will by default run at five-five-5-18, and all the internal timings (there are a lot of RAM timings, not just four!) are set for running at 5-five-5-18.In other words, if you get this item, you are not buying five-5-five-12 RAM as advertised, but 5-5-five-18 RAM that Mushkin feels will overclock effectively. It is not capable of automatically configuring itself to run at the claimed speed. Forget the "Shame on Gigabyte" part - they're fine, just decided to hide crucial BIOS settings. Mushkin, nonetheless, is clearly engaging in fraud. |
I have a picky mobo - an Intel DQ965GF - which INSISTS on a 1.8v DDR2-6400 five-5-5 RAM. Plugged-in both mushkins and all is well none so far - and don't count on any, except possibly mushkin's rebate keeps you on your heels - they only give you a handful of days to try out their item before the mail-in rebate Must be submitted, which is a bit unusual... I have no complaints, but I also don't truly attempt to push the envelope right here. Just boosting my RAM to have a decent VISTA program. That's all.
