NETGEAR RND4000-200NAS ReadyNAS NV+ v2 Network Storage for Home/SoHo Users
Cons:Disk failure
Pros:quietwell built Comment:
This is my very first NAS storage, I am not a very experienced user but I think this does quite a good job, I plan on getting some red drives to swap in as one of the drive died. The drive died after a power outage, but I still think that this NAS device should be ready for those scenarios. |

NETGEAR RND4000-200NAS ReadyNAS NV+ v2 Network Storage for Home/SoHo Users
Cons:Much less feature in the v2 than in the v1
Pros:Very solid feelExtremely easy to configureNice look & DesignX-RAID2 Comment:
At first I suspected a faulty device due to extremely low transfer speeds in 801.11n WiFi (< 1Mb/s). After research, discovered that for 801.11n to achieve optimal speed, the router needs to be configured as WPA2 w/ AES encryption. If TKIP encryption is selected, it will default down to 11g speeds.Once this was resolved, the transfer speeds reached near theorical speeds for a 802.11n network.Other than this slight issue (which is not even related to this product) it does exactly what I bought it for. Redundant storage at home. Currently hold a pair of WD20EARX |

NETGEAR RND4000-200NAS ReadyNAS NV+ v2 Network Storage for Home/SoHo Users
Cons:A scratch awl and a Sharpie quickly label the disk trays to match the numbered slots.
Pros:Easy to setup and configureLots of options, features and supportVery solid feel, tiny footprintBoxee Box saw the shares immediately Comment:
Received it very fast and popped in the 2 new hard drives that I ordered with it. Still transferring data from computer and when done will remove the 2TB from tower and add to the NAS to expand the volume (obviously running it in Xraid2). Then I can add another to expand it again. Configured the ReadyNAS Remote addon and Transmission for P2P easily and all seems to be working fine. For people out there trying addons this is a ARM unit so you need to look for ARM builds. NETGEAR RND4000-200NAS ReadyNAS NV+ v2 Network Storage for Home/SoHo Users
Cons:None so far
Pros:Great price, great performance, built like a tank! Comment:
So far this has been a great device for the money. Much much much faster transfer wise than the drobo I had. The case is built well, and the LCD in the front is great (especially at this price point) |

NETGEAR RND4000-200NAS ReadyNAS NV+ v2 Network Storage for Home/SoHo Users
Cons:None so far
Pros:Appears to be a reliable NAS Comment:
Paired this NAS chassis with 2x 3TB WD hard drives (WD30EZRX). Other than needing to do a reset during the initial set up to get it working, it has been working flawlessly as a simple NAS. There seems to be on-going firmware development, which is a plus. |
I am very satisfied. It was easy to set up. It's easy to maintain. It works with my linux box, my windows box, and my Sharp TV (DLNA).
