NH-U9B
Cons:- Fan could be a bit more powerful (pressure) due to how closely the fins are spaced
Pros:- Light in comparison to other coolers- Comes with mounting brackets for LGA775 and AM2/+- Includes mounting 'brackets' for a second 92mm fan- Very quiet at 1600rpm- Comes with adapters to reduce the fan speed/noise even further- Comes with all you need to install the heatsink- Easy to follow installation guide |

NH-U9B
Cons:The "beige" color of the fan...!
Pros:QualityClear instructionsThermal Paste included Comment:
Honestly, from my point of view the best I saw... I lost 8-10 degres on a Q6600 compare to the standard Intel Heat Sink.Great quality material, fabrication.Instructions are clear. Possibility to have 2 fans on the Heat Sink.Of course you have to pull out you mobo to install it so if you are not willing to do so, don't buy this. For those who really wants something efficient, this is for you! |

NH-U9B
Cons:Doesn't cool as well as the NH-U12P or other heatsinks with 120mm fans
Pros:Relative compact size Comment:
The NH-U12P wouldn't fit in my case so I got its little brother, the NH-U9B, instead. Still a great performer and it's pretty much quiet inside my case.Keeps my E8400 from 12 to 24 degrees above ambient depending on load, comparable to the FrostyTech review. |

NH-U9B
Cons:Might need an additional fan for stronger cooling
Pros:Size, weight and quite Comment:
Definitely one of the much better designs out there. Installation is a bit tricky if you don't read the manual (duh!), however orientation is customizable, it is light and given it's smaller than average size for comparable heat sinks, it should fit in all mid to full cases. Performance is excellent, given the very low noise levels (I have it installed on a Wolfdale e8400). Definitely recommended. |

Cons:installation manual sux
Pros:comes with everything, quiet Comment:
awesome hs for the size, doesn't blow very hard tho, so i'm thinking of adding another fan for a push/pull config to get more airflow through this thing, but very quiet, barely audible, one of the best hs if u have limited space like me in a htpc |

This is an extremely amazing HSF. It keeps everything, including an OC'd Q6600 at extremely cool and stable temperatures. Noctua jumped feet first into the CPU cooling market and has since never released a single bad product. It's a shame more people don't use Noctua because they are easily the best bang for the buck, have the best mounting system, manual, extras and fans. The fan is the most silent out of any product, regardless of price. The only knock I have on this HSF or any Noctua products is they are not exactly pretty on the eyes. However Eye candy aside, they are one of the elite brands and the U9B is fantastic. I tested one and have since ordered two more. |
When I was looking for an aftermarket cooler for my Q6600 I did not want one of those massive coolers that are very top heavy and risk warping your motherboard. Looking at reviews this cooler outperformed many of the 120mm fan coolers and is quite light in comparison. The back mounting plates included are very sturdy and spread the load very well, which is what you want so less chance of warping your mobo.As I never installed the stock intel fan or any other 3rd party fan I can't comment on how the NH-U9B compares, but it keeps my Q6600 cool. Also, on the bottom of the heatsink you can see the tool marks, however the surface is flat, so not perfect but not bad.All in all a very good cooler.
