NZXT Tempest ATX Mid-Tower Case - Clear Sides, Front USB, eSATA Ports
Comment:
For a case with so many fans, it sure is quiet! It's pretty, too. That's about where the good part ends. Front panel LEDs are fragile, as are the power/reset buttons...I've had to replace 2 front panels. The drive bays are somewhat awkward to remove, and the 5.25'' to 3.5'' adapter mounts are cheap looking and don't match the case. For a hundred bucks and change, you're better off choosing Antec cases, which Tiger does not sell.

I agree. This thing is freakin' rock solid. The blue lights aren't overpowering, and the construction is awesome. Mounting a mainboard in this thing was a snap, and its got plenty of room. Freakin' sweet!

Case was undamaged and all fans and wiring were operational. Nice big fans... 6 of them! They are surprisingly quiet, too. Unfortunately the larger size inside meant my PSU cables just barely reached all corners (BFG 650w). Documentation was decent but assumes you know what you are doing. Nice case especially for gamers. Plenty of room for expansion. Easy to add disc drives.

I've had this case for over 2 months now and it's been powered on the entire time. No fan failures, no lights out, the air coming from the exaust fans up top is COLD. This case is a beauty. It's not ugly and covered with molded plastic like other ''gamer'' cases. This makes for a very mature and pro looking setup. The lighting up front is subtle and not overpowering but it is noticable and very very cool looking. Has more than enough room for running larger graphics cards such as the GTX series. The front-side eSATA port is a nice touch. I really enjoyed my build with this so much that I will be purchasing another to place my old system in which I still use as a server. This case is more than worth the money spent.

Actually, my daughter chose it and she made an awesome choice!! If anyone doesn't like the NZXT case product line then find something better for the price!!!Mike

I must say I bought this thinking is was going to be something special... I mean with 6 fans you would think it would actually cool... Boy are you in for a surprise! Case is horribly designed... too flexible and VERY cheap with putting in a ROM drive.. Yes, a lot of features can be said used but nothing compared to the other ones really. Cooling factor= in the crapper.. Go with something more reliable but not NZXT.

I wanted something bigger to put my Gateway parts in, since as with most store bought PC's, it's pretty cramped in the factory case. I was mainly concerned about keeping everything cool. The NZXT Tempest did not disappoint. It's HUGE! I could almost literally put the entire gateway case inside the NZXT motherboard area. It has plenty of fans to keep it nice and cool, and the thing just looks awesome with all the lighting and the clear side panel. If you need a bigger case, get this. The only suggestion I have is to buy extensions for all of your power supply cables, it's a good distance from the PSU to the motherboard connector on my setup.

Great case. I just used this case in my first PC build and it didn't come up lacking. Plenty of room for all your toys in there..All my led's work, and you'd think that with a total of 9 fans in my build, the noise level would be a factor-NOT TRUE...its a gentle purring that anyone can handle...Great price for a great case. Thanks Tiger!

Got the case today, no idea how the fans work yet. Be aware that the top piece is just a plastic cover. Mine arrived with the plastic mounting pieces all broken and not really any way to fix it. Still sits on the top fine but can't be secured. Most likely will have to exchange it. I would suggest calling in your order and making sure it will be packed safely.

Picked this up for my gaming rig at the local Tiger Direct. They really mean it when they call it the king of airflow. This thing is a roomy, sleek mid tower with more fans than you could ever imagine. The case glows blue and the fans are dead silent. Housing my Diamond HD 3870s in CrossFire comfortably with tons of airflow for easier and safer overclocking. This case could fit even an 8800 ultra in here comfortably. GREAT BUY, GREAT PRICE.. Way to go TD and NZXT

This case is not loud. My Water cooling pump is louder. It moves quite a bit of air. 5 Stars in performance. The case is solid and nothing about it feels cheap. 5 stars in quality. The 2 USB ports are usually standard with cases now days but the eSata and HD/AC97 Audio plugs are not. The front fan leds are not easily seen due to the dust collection screens which is acceptable, less dust = lower temps. The wires for the fans are packaged so when they are unraveled they look like curley fries, it doesn't help the inside of the case look all that nice but nothing electrical tape can't fix. The case is larger then I had expected and gives you plenty of room for cable management and the screwless design is fool proof. I gave 5 stars for features though the motherboard tray is not removable. I also gave it 5 stars due to the location of the side fan(Blows directly on both GPU units). 5 stars for value 99$ is a steal for what you get.

I don't know why people complained about noise mine is almost silent!! AMDX4200 with stock AMD CPU fan, runs about 27 degrees average. Very nice case. Replacing old crap case. Case is solid steel, no give, makes a heavy PC but a reliable one. Like I said mine is silent but, it came with the led fans, mabye the ones without the led fans are louder idk, but i love this PC. The case really made the system. I own Jordo's Computer Services built over 100 gaming systems, never used a case I love this much. As long as tiger direct has these cases, this case will be the staple of all my new line of gaming machines.

Nice case. The fans are not that loud you notice them but they're like a queit hum so you don't feel lonely. Lol! anyway its solid and keeps everything nice and cool! Just a Tip! may need a fan controller for up to three. I used the Intel Dx58so MB and still had to connet 3 of the fans to molex (nice to have that option). So if your concerned about that sort of thing now you know.

I just picked up this case after purchasing several high end parts. I wanted something that would keep up to 4 hard drives cool, and this certainly does the trick. Yes, it does sound like your mother's old vacuum cleaner when it runs, but I just swapped out the front and rear fans with 3 Ultra 120mm silent fans, and now you can barely hear it! My video card temperature dropped 20 degrees Celsius under load. This is an awesome case. Looks cool too!

I purchased this case about 3 weeks ago, and it's great. It keeps my system 10c cooler and I never see my 9800gt get above 56c underload. The case is solid as are the front jacks. (though the headphone/mic jacks are tight you really need to force your plugs in.) A few cons...My front fans were not LED's (just plain black plastic) which I don't mind. The only led light IN the case is the fan on the clear side panel .The only other thing is that the indicator light on the side didn't work.

This case rocks!!! The quality is superb, the instructions were awesome and this case is big enough to put just about anything in. Already setup for water cooling. And they supplied all the hardware for the install (screws for each applications in seperate baggies). Six huge 180mm case fans, this case definetely lives up to its name ''The Air King''. No Cons with this case from my stand point, it was way above my expectations, this case could easily be $200. Tiger Direct did an awesome job modeling the case on the video so you don't buy it blind, thanks Tiger Direct!!

Great case- I was relieved to find a case around $100 that didn't look or feel like it came from kmart. It is large, rugged and thoughtfully designed. Also included is a 3.5 t0 5.25 face plate/bay adapter in case you want to intall a floppy or media card reader. Thumbscrews are also used ontheside cover- very cool. There are holes w/ grommets for water cooling as well. What impressed me is that this case came with 6 fans, and each fan had 3 connectors (molex in/out and a 3 pin mobo), giving you plenty of options for setup. Although I would recommend this case, there are a few things that I did not like. The pwr/reset buttons are delicate- Push them a little too hard and they will separate from their holders. To fix it, you have to remove the mobo, unscrew the top cover and snap them back in place.

This is a nice case, but the inside of my window had about a one inch deep scratch on it. :/ Also one of the fans in the front was a slightly different LED color than the fan above it, its almost a purple color. The case has great airflow, keeps my quad very cool.

I bought this case not realizing how huge it is! This is a beast. I can't believe how much stuff I can fit in here. If it had 2 or 3 more inches, I could fit my old computer in here. It has pre-drilled holes for water cooling but unless you are a very hardcore gamer, you won't need to use water cooling because of the 4 140mm fans and the 2 120mm fans. It looks really nice and I love the front led's and harddrive led. The side window however, is not a square, it gets smaller towards the front and only looks cool in pictures. It is also very flimsy. The case itself however, is not flimsy. The front part is held on my some plastic pegs (about 10 to 15) and 3 of mine came broke. I didn't want to have to ship the whole case back just to get new plastic pegs and have to wait for it to come back and have to deal with the whole process so I just superglued them back in place and its fine now. But, overall I think this case is pretty good expect for the flimsy window. 4/5

Very nice looking and good performing case. The only problem I would have with it is where you have to put your power supply because the supply exhaust goes right into the graphics card. It can hold tons of stuff, I have the butterfly heatsink and a Sapphire ati radeon 48701gb and it fits in perfectly and its huge. I bought this and tigerdirect sent sent me an email a day after thanking me for buying a case and that i should look at this one for my next purchase....lol
