I used this unit to replace an old Linksys access point that had gradually failed over the years. Installation was simple, the machine configured itself almost automatically, and it's working well. A strong, stable signal that all my wireless devices like, and no reliability problems after several weeks.

Comment:
Bought two of these units to outfit an office in Florida. After a small learning curve (due to the VLAN capabilities) both were up and running in a snap. The security features of this unit make it great for making a public access point or just extending your current wifi.

Great product so far. This is my first brush with wifi. We have a router and just added this wireless access point to it. I just gave it an IP in the range of my router on the network. Security was important to me. I researched online and Netgear seemed to have a solid product. Enabling security correctly is a bit tedious, but once done it responds to the laptop every time without intervention. I enabled WPA2 on the pair. I have whole house coverage, even on the deck outside. Browser interface was also important to me as we mainly use Opera, and some PCs we run Linux. Compliance with IEEE 802.11g is all I need at this point in time, since the n standard is just a draft now at the end of 2007. I get 54Mbps out of it, don't have the hardware for 108Mbps.

I have used this since it came out and for a consumer grade wireless AP it performs very well. I put a 9db antennae on it and got great range. Never had any issues where it ''forgot'' things like my Linksys wireless router does. Plus a 3 year warranty is hard to beat. Interface is clean. Never tried the SNMP features on it.
