Netgear Prosafe GS116NA 16 Port Gigabit Desktop Network Switch 10/100/1000

This is a quality product (if you are looking for a network switch with more than 8 ports) and a great deal when sale priced, and combined with Netgear rebates. |

Netgear Prosafe GS116NA 16 Port Gigabit Desktop Network Switch 10/100/1000
Cons:netgear rebate process is a pain
Pros:Price (on sale) Comment:
I got this for hosting LAN parties. So far so good. Hooked it up with an 8 port netgear and all was good. Much gaming was had. The part I didn't like about getting this was the BS rebate process. You apply, and after awhile you get a prepaid visa card worth a certain amount of money. THe card loses value over time so go fill your vehicle with gas or something straight away. |

Netgear Prosafe GS116NA 16 Port Gigabit Desktop Network Switch 10/100/1000
Cons:None it just works out of the box.
Pros:Works like it should, sturdy. Comment:
Great when your router no longer suffice with 4 ports to feed your network. Be aware this is not a managed switch, if you simply need to expand your network without a need for a GUI or management then this is a great switch for you. |

Netgear Prosafe GS116NA 16 Port Gigabit Desktop Network Switch 10/100/1000
Cons:None so far. It works as expected.
Pros:No need to configure. Works out of box. Quite. Comment:
There's not much to add really. It's a gigabit switch. It works. Plug and play.My preferred choice is Linksys, but i guess Dlink and Netgear come as a second best. |
Aside from having no POE ports which I didn't need anyways, this switch not only performs fast but looks great. The small size allowed me to zip tie the unit vertically beside my media cabinet. If your considering a switch I'd say have a look here.
