The ends are a weak plastic, so the cable pulls down on the connectors. Over time the connection weakens and the connevtors separate from the casing, thus destroying the cable. You don't need to devote a lot on a HDMI cable...the signal is digital so it will not weaken like analog cables. Just make positive the cable is built well.

HDMI TO HDMI A/V Gold Plated Cable Comment: dont know if it particularly says it, but this is compatible with hdmi 1.4 which suggests it can be used for 3d, so if u want an entry level model for 3d sound this will do it. speakers sound great, setup is a breeze, setup menu is straightforward to navigate. i enjoy it, properly worth my moneys. only actual con is it does not involve ipod dock, it didnt say it came with one particular so i was not disappointed, but i use my personal computer thru the receiver so it functions out. the remote is not backlit whatsoever so seeing the controls in a dark area is a pain. overall excellent program, effectively worth the dollars, and it gets loud devoid of any distortion. if u want entry level new 2010 model for five.1 with supposrt for 3d, this is THE method for you.
