I bought 2 of these for my Norco RPC-4224 and they are doing the job so far so I'd recommend them for a server.

Noctua NF-R8-1800 Case Fan
Cons:Price

Pros:Looks, reliablity
Comment:
Installed one in the front of my case to a fan controller. I can't hear it when it's turned to its lowest setting. I made a tunnel from that fan up to the intake of my 670 GTX 4 gig and when gaming I turn my noctua up to max, and it's still fairly quite. And my 670 runs very cool while playing games maxed out.

Noctua NF-R8-1800 Case Fan
Cons:Expensive, however, they cost $16.99 in 2009 yet are $15.99 today in 2013.Could be balanced better, however dynamic balancing is time consuming and expensive.

Pros:Quiet blades, 'purr' wind sound at 12V.Extremely quiet motor, no high pitched noise at any speed.Have been operating at full speed for 4 years. Long bearing life.Move a good amount of air for the noise level.Includes two speed adapters for two slower fixed RPM settings, rubber mounts and 4-pin Molex adapter. For some reason, it seems that I even after a year, I don't have to clean the dust from the blades quiet like other fans.
Comment:
I purchased two of these on April 2 2009 from NCIX, and have been using them at 12V ever since. I used them to replace a Cooler Master, who's bearing gave up the ghost and grind like a cutting saw. The other is general case circulation with a ULNA adapter. Some people wonder why anyone bothers to buy them with the prices and other brands that are available. I know my reason is because Noctua provided good airflow rates and pressure while remaining quiet or at least diffuse sounding. Others create  a steady midrange tone and all to often emit a second series of high frequency PWM switching sounds that leaves my ears begging for mercy. I do recommend Noctua because they work, they're quiet, and they last.I was impressed enough that I recently came back and bought an NF-12 1300 120MM. I was so happy with this one which turned out deeper toned and quieter while moving more air than the 80MM, that I bought another matching 120MM to run together at low rpm and the 60MM model for a power supply. If I could get Noiseblockers fans here in Canada easily, I would give them a go in other projects but I am satisfied.

Noctua NF-R8-1800 Case Fan
Cons:gangly colorspriceywould prefer switch rather than manually switching ULN/LN cables

Pros:Quiet at 1920rpm, moves a lot of air
Comment:
Bought 2 of these 80mm Noctua's as exhaust fans for my HTPC. Needed fans that would move a lot of air yet quiet at the same time as the OEM fans that came with the Silverstone HTPC case were quiet loud at 2000rpm.These fans are connected to the Gigabyte SYS fans 3 pin board without any of the supplied low noise adapters and they both operate at 1920rpm and very very quiet. Extremely pleased.

Noctua NF-R8-1800 Case Fan
Cons:Somewhat expensive.

Pros:Quiet, moves a decent amount of air, great build quality.
Comment:
Used this fan for a sff case and for it's small size it moves quite a bit of air, while at the same time is nearly silent. Nice to have a standard 3 pin, sleeved cable but for the price it's not surprising. Immune to the color-scheme now, but if you need a dead silent fan that still moves a good amount of air this is a good choice.

Noctua NF-R8-1800 Case Fan
Cons:Pricy.

Pros:Very silent! Lots of accessories included.
Comment:
Bought this fan to cool the heatsink of an old Athlon 64 X2 3800+ in a htpc project. I wanted the thing to be as silent as possible and this fan helped me achieve this very well. You'll understand that the processor is almost never under big load and is not overclocked so this fan provide decent cooling for my build. It is a bit pricy but you won't regret it when you'll (won't) hear it.
