Noctua NH-C12P SE14
Cons:
Price, but you get what you pay for.
Pros: Fits in most smaller cases where a tower HSF won't. Very good cooling ability. Quiet. Comment:
Was running at ~45C idle and low 70s load with stock HSF. Now it's at ~28C idle and barely breaks 40 at load (Prime95 10 min). Installing this into my Lian Li 351 was easy with the out-of-box instructions.Ambient 22-23COverclocked i5 750 w 3.2GHz/1.2v |

Noctua NH-C12P SE14
Cons:A bit expensive compared to others but, in this case you do get what you pay for
Pros:Excellent quality, fit, absolutely silent, ease of installation Comment:
CPU temps 38ºC idle, 73º at 100% load with stock Intel cooler, dropped to 20º idle and 53º at 100% with this cooler. Very easy to install with included 1156 mounting kit and good instructions. Mounting hardware solid, allowing no movement. Lots of room underneath for Ram and North and South Bridge heatsinks, which are kept cooler as well. With fan connected directly to CPU Fan header, fan runs below 600 rpm during normal use, 800 rpm gaming, and just below 1000 rpm at 100% load making it almost impossible to hear.Core i5 750, Gigabyte P55A-UD4P, XFX 5770 GPU, Corsair XMS3 Ram, Azza Helios 910 |

Noctua NH-C12P SE14
Cons:- Very big - it is HUGE. Make sure this will fit your setup.
Pros:Extremely good at cooling my AMD Phenom II X4 945. When all 4 cores were busy the stock cooler sounded like some cats being really unhappy. Now - silence, absolute silence. And about 12 degrees Celsius less.- very high quality cooler- very easy to mount Comment:
I would recommend this cooler to anybody - if it fits. This is like the Titanic's propeller compared to the tiny stock coolers. Your power supply or any other stuff might be in the way. |

Noctua NH-C12P SE14
Cons:For hardcore overclockers, this won't cool as much as a tower cooler.
Pros:Cools everything, not just the CPU. Excellent quality, easy installation, fantastic manual. Quiet. Comment:
I bought the Azza Solano 1000R and the side window fan restricts most tower coolers. This cooler fits perfectly with Room to spare, and sits nicely over my RAM. No compatibiity issues. Very good buy. |

Noctua NH-C12P SE14
Cons:It is not as efficient as the tower type heatsinks.
Pros:High quality heatsink/fan that cools both the CPU and motherboard Comment:
There were two reasons why I chose this CPU; 1) it fit in my Antec P180 mini case. 2) It also cools motherboard components. Most failures I've had with computer parts has been the motherboard failing. This heatsink/fan helps to cool both the CPu and surrounding components, just like the stock fan of the i5. Although the tower type does a better job at the CPU, I believe this conventional arrangement allows air flow to components that were meant to be cooled near the cpu. Resting temp of the CPU/MB is 24/21C. 100% CPU load while video encoding for 2hrs straight is 37/28C. I may try overclocking in the future. |

Noctua NH-C12P SE14
Cons:Absolutely None.
Pros:Quality! Warranty. Solid mounting design. Ease of sub assembly and installation. Thorough instructions. All inclusive kit. Comment:
Amazing build quality and solid mounting design. This goes down as the easiest cooler I have ever worked with. From opening the box, to examining the construction it's obvious there were no corners cut by Noctua. It may be a bit expensive but if you upgrade every 2-3 years it's quite reasonable - definitely a very desirable "used" cpu cooler. Throw that stock Intel cooler away and don't look back! |

Noctua NH-C12P SE14
Cons:- non sale price- Some people may not like the fan's color scheme, not a big deal.
Pros:- Very Quiet- Top of the line 140mm Fan- Looks great- somewhat smaller heatsink able to fit in most cases Comment:
After doing some reading on heatsinks, I decided to grab the Noctua NH-C12P SE14. I originally had my eyes on the Noctua NH-U12P SE2, but I do believe even though this fan is larger, overall it is a smaller heatsink. The 140mm fan uses a circular housing which lets you mount it on 120mm fan mounts.Just because its smaller doesn't mean it doesn't do its job! I was using my stock Intel Q6600 heatsink, and for some reason after about 2 years of using it my temps were idling at 65c and at load I was seeing 85c.With this Noctua heatsink I now get idle temps at 25c and loads temps at 35c.I can't say enough great things about Noctua. Their attention to detail and excellent quality make this product a must buy if you want a good quality heatsink, and did I mention this thing runs pretty much silent.I grabbed it on sale for $60, I would recommend grabbing it on sale as it seems to go on sale often. |
I recently built a MATX PC in a micro tower and this cooler fits perfectly. My i5 750 is overclocked to 3.5 GHz with a Vcore of 1.136 V and it idles 37C. Under load it reaches 45-50C. If you're getting this for a small form factor case then that's fine, but if you have room, get a cheaper tower-style cooler that will give you a little better performance. The quality is amazing as usual from Noctua.
