Noctua NH-L9i LGA1155/1156 Low Profile Heatsink Cooler w/ Slim NF-A9x14 92MM PWM Fan
Cons:Easy to get the orientation wrong, can block the CPU fan header on some motherboards if orientated incorrectly
Pros:Very quiet fan, low profile, easy to install, extremely well built, machined Comment:
It's cooling a Xeon E3-1245 which it just about copes with (77W is the top end). The construction, packaging and quality is absolutely amazing! It's a solid, well machined piece of hardware, and the fan is silent - even when max'd with the case open I can barely hear it.Now, while it will fit most ITX motherboards, you do need to be careful about how you orient it when installing. The first time I did not pay too much attention and ended up blocking the CPU fan header. As the HSF is screwed in from underneath the motherboard, it is annoying to change. When installing, connect the fan cable first and then secure it.Otherwise, an awesome product - I would definitely purchase Noctua again and this is just perfect for a quiet, SFF system - just be sure to check the CPU TDP and plan accordingly. |

Noctua NH-L9i LGA1155/1156 Low Profile Heatsink Cooler w/ Slim NF-A9x14 92MM PWM Fan
Cons:Price, fan colour
Pros:Compatibility, quietness Comment:
Comes close to the Big Shuriken 2 that I replaced in quietness. Base PWM speed seems a little higher though. I'm using it with an Intel Pentium G620. Just wish it was cheaper, and had a black fan instead of two-tone brown. This review was modfied by poster @ 12-06-12 09:50 PM |

Noctua NH-L9i LGA1155/1156 Low Profile Heatsink Cooler w/ Slim NF-A9x14 92MM PWM Fan
Cons:Expensive
Pros:Ultra-quiet (almost unnoticeable to small whirr)Reasonably cooler than stock Comment:
Still a tight fit on a Zotac mini-itx board (had to cut off the clip of a power connector to get it to lie flat). But it did not hit ram or graphics card with the nubs pointed away; 1cm clearance to the power supply above (Apex mi-008).Great performance if you're willing to pay and a long warranty if anything does go wrong later. I have a Asus P8H61-i and Lian Li Q25 case, been using as NAS for a year. After replace the stock heatsink with this, it is silent now. Of course there is a premium for parts that are small and quiet.
