Norco C-SFF8087-D SFF-8087 to SFF8087 Internal Multilane SAS Cable
Cons:500mm cables might be to short for controller cards with rear SAS ports
Pros:Flexible enough for routing Comment:
500mm length SAS cables, work as expected. Using an RPC-4224, the cables may be to tight if controller card has rear mounted SAS ports and using 120mm fan wall. With 80mm fan wall, its a very tight fit.If SAS ports are front mounted, no issues what so ever. |

Works properly, connecting amongst a LSI SAS 9201-16i Host Bus Adapter Card (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816118142) and a SAS backplane on a Norco RPC-4224 server case (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811219038). I'll be finding a lot more of these to fill the remaining slots. None Cable length appears ideal, no excess length lying around. |

Holds 24 drives. Hot swaps. Has Network LEDs in the frontNo super vibrant blue LEDS!Can be made quiet with some straightforward fan swaps.Did I mention no super vivid blue LEDS? If you got small hands, then connecting the 8087 cables to the back plane will be straightforward. Otherwise you may want to get rid of the internal fan shroud to do it.There are no front USB connectors.Wish you could do a eATX mobo in a single of these.. Like a couple previous posts, I swapped out the stock fans. Even just replacing the 80mm ones with some low flow quiets tends to make a large distinction. I'm still waiting for my 120mm fan mount to arrive so I place the stock four - 80mm one back in to start off configuring everything, and with the cover on, I was suprised how quiet it was even with these in. |

Comment:
The connectors are nice and the cables seems like it is pretty high good quality. The cable sheathing looks good and feels tough. Fantastic value. It's a tiny stiffer than I would like and the description of it being ideal for the 4020 and 4220 is a tiny misleading. I'm not sure if they make a shorter cable, but it could be a fantastic four" shorter, perhaps a lot more. Snaps in excellent with the Norco 4220 and Supermicro SASLP-MV8. Do not get the SAT2-MV8 from right here. Go with the SASLP-MV8 rather. I just wish Newegg carried it, so I could do a a single stop shop right here! |

Comment:
Nice braided sheath on cable. Molex-brand connectors. Fair value. The retaining clip could be a bit much better built for ease of operation. It holds on just fine, but removing it requires a precise grip. That could be a function in some circumstances, but other cables I've employed had been a bit much easier to eliminate and never ever got bumped off. They had been considerably additional high priced and that's why I bought these. Take this as an 'every item can use improvement' criticism, absolutely nothing swaying a obtain, unless you're going to be removing these many instances a day. Fantastic length for most installs, perfectly functional, connecting an LSI card to a Supermicro case in my installation. I didn't look at the close-up photographs just before I purchased so I was happily surprised when I got braided cables. There's a Molex shrinkwrap part number on the cable, this could be an all-Molex assembly resold by NORCO. |
Higher quality cable. Works effectively with my norco RPC-4220 case. I ordered five of these cables and 3 LSI SAS3081E-R cards (actually i ordered the intel rebranding of this card mainly because it's 50 dollars less expensive) Cable connects firmly. none. Does precisely what it's supposed to do. A different reviewer described this cable is a small stiff...even though this could be correct, i haven't noticed several SFF-8087 to SFF-8087 cables which WEREN'T stiff. Utilizing cable ties in the proper place a lot more than resolve this situation for me.
