OCZ EliteXStream OCZ800EXS 800W Power Supply
Cons:Doesn't work - failed after 33 daysManufacturer warranty requires that I pay to ship it to them for a replacement
Pros:Cheap - not much else good to say Comment:
I bought this for a new build hoping that it wasn't the "flawed version" as the description stated. Unfortunately it failed after 34 days of modest use (Computer LED's came on as did the orange one on the PSU but the computer wouldn't POST). This PSU had some coil whine when I first installed it but that went away within a week. It also made a very loud grinding noise whenever I shut down the computer over the last week. |

OCZ EliteXStream OCZ800EXS 800W Power Supply
Cons:* Not modular
Pros:* Quiet* Long cables* Stable power Comment:
I bought this on sale to replace an older PSU. I am quite happy over the purchase so far and have not had any problems. The only downside is apparently these things have a high failure rate, so I would recommend taking the gamble. |

OCZ EliteXStream OCZ800EXS 800W Power Supply
Cons:
None that I can think of
Pros: 800W, modular design Comment:
I've used OCZ power supplies in the past and have been happy with their quality. I've got a 500W running in my HTPC for the past 3 years and it hasn't complained. I would definitely recommend their hardware to anyone without hesitating. |

OCZ EliteXStream OCZ800EXS 800W Power Supply
Cons:Failed after only 1 year
Pros:Good solid power... while it ran Comment:
Was a good solid power supply while it ran. Only had it a year before my computer would not turn on and the power supply displayed a continuous red light. Did a search online and found that the survival rate of these power supplies is typically measured in months not years. To OCZ's credit they're no longer producing this PSU and am replacing mine with a newer model. Still expected much better reliability from this company. Will see how the replacement fares. |

OCZ EliteXStream OCZ800EXS 800W Power Supply
Cons:Needs good RMA service. Well-established reputation for unit failure.
Pros:Relatively quiet, stable, long cables for flexible use, strong RMA service Comment:
Twice had to return (good RMA handling though). OCZ has discontinued in light of EXS models; very high failure rate. See OCZ forums for proof. |

OCZ EliteXStream OCZ800EXS 800W Power Supply
Cons:Faulty Design, dies after a few months
Pros:Delivers nice power, quiet Comment:
STAY AWAY!! Dies after a few months. My first ocz800exs died after 3.5 months, my second just died after 4 months. This power supply is faulty, stay away. Do a search online and you will see MANY other reports of the same problem.OCZ has excellent tech support and replaced mine with a superior PSU, but the hassle is just not worth it. Go with something else. |

OCZ EliteXStream OCZ800EXS 800W Power Supply
Cons:none yet, but some won't like it because its not modular
Pros:very affordable for a 800w power supply Comment:
So far I'm very happy with the OCZ 800EXS. Picked it up for $140 plus a $20 mail-in rebate. So a very good price for those who want to power a GTX 260 sli or 4870 CF. Not modular so there are lots of cables but I managed to get all of them out of the way in empty harddrive and optical drive slots. Very satisfied with my purchase so far! |
OCZ is a shit company, just gonna say it right away. This was on sale for around $100 - $30MIR when I got it, so it was temping. I never got the mail in rebate. Something went wrong on their end, and I never bothered to email them about it, nor did they again. I just forgot about it for a year, at which point it was too late. The PSU just died on me (red light in the back, same story as for others) and dealing with OCZ has been a nightmare so far. I don't expect them to pay for shipping both ways or anything, just decent fast responses to my emails and not a robotic answer. Calling them is hopeless too. On top of that they haven't updated their line of PSU's for 3 years now and they got rid of many series altogether. There's a reason why there's more people complaining about their products and their service; every company gets unsatisfied loud customers but these guys get more... Even thought I got 2 years left of warranty.. I'm just gonna get a new psu. And lol, NCIX doesn't let me post a 1 star review because I don't know what my order ID is. I bought it in store and I can't find it on the receipt. This product is a 0 though, be warned reader!
