OCZ Octane S2 64GB 2.5IN SATA2 Indilinx Everest SSD Solid State Disk Flash Drive
Cons:Not the fastest SSD available (Still pretty quick)As with almost all SSD there's no 3.5" bay mounting bracket included
Pros:Boot times are faster than a 7200rpm HDD,Less than half the Power consumption of a HDD,Noise free, very little heat given off.Perfect for a HTPC,Excellent value on the weekly special $35 after mail in rebate. |

OCZ Octane S2 64GB 2.5IN SATA2 Indilinx Everest SSD Solid State Disk Flash Drive
Cons:small, but at this price, who cares
Pros:cheap, its an ssd, its not a hdd Comment:
any ssd will feel nice and fast, as this is no exception. If you dont have an ssd yet, what are you waiting for. At this price, get a few, stripe them, and your good to go. |

OCZ Octane S2 64GB 2.5IN SATA2 Indilinx Everest SSD Solid State Disk Flash Drive
Cons:Worked phenomenally the first boot up.. Got a 7.2 on the windows rating thingy.. A week later the bootup takes 5 seconds longer.. And now it is rated at a 7.1 (I do have trim enabled and everything else that is supposed to make them last longer.. Soo.. Yeah..
Pros:Cheap I guess?Shortened my startup timeErr? Comment:
Errrrrr... Still worth it.. My bootup times before it were at above 1 minute (My BIOS takes forever to start)... I would suggest it to anyone for a boot drive |
I have this in a HTPC in my living room it is now whisper quiet as the movies are stored on my PC in the other room ( no HDD noise)& no need for fans!Another bonus for HTPC's is that power consumption is only 2.3w active & 1.2w standby so it's sipping the electricity. Only real downside is the MIR but still if you can't wait 8 weeks you can pay $1 for express service (2-3 weeks). For $35 its a no brainer.
