Cheap memory
Comment:
Not sure if it's cause it's designed for Intel boards but I had to manually set the timings on AM3 board to get 1333. Other than that both sticks worked for me. |

Got this pair of memory for my i5 build. it works great. no complaint what so ever. The only problem is the MIR for all OCZ product which is kinda inconvinient. But price is definitely good. |

3 out of 4 dimms bad
Comment:
first 2 came with the intel dp55wb bundle, shortly after assembly bsod and other errors. MEMtest386 showed one good one dead (won't boot with it in either slot) ordered 2 more and RMA'd the old. both of the 2nd pair doa. read OCZ's support site and set the voltage to 1.65 and box runs great on gogd 2gb. waiting to RMA the 2nd set. MEMtest them as soon as you get them. dkj |

OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory
Cons:none, did the job just fine
Pros:Strenght: Excellent price/performance ratio Comment:
This RAM worked great with my MSI motherboard. It was able to do the advertised speeds without any hiccups. The heatsinks did their job just fine and the ram doesn't seem to get hot. All in all, for the price, this was an excellent purchase. I would recommend it to a friend. |

OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory
Cons:Very tight timings - any deviation causes a lot of problems. Motherboard may not identify settings properly or apply proper voltage (defaults to 1066MHz, 1.5v).
Pros:Fast timings when configured properly. Inexpensive when doubled with sale and MIR. Comment:
I purchased 4 sticks of this RAM because of the fast timings and the inexpensive price. In my experience of using Crucial and Corsair previously, this RAM was the most difficult to get running properly. The timings are VERY tight on this RAM and not very forgiving. One of my settings was slightly off, but that was enough to cause BSODs, program crashes, corrupt files, bad CRC reads, and RAID array sync failures. Memtest and Sandra mem loops revealed no problems, it was only in actual real-world usage that problems began to creep up.My suggestion is that either you get a motherboard that can identify and apply the timings properly automatically (not many can, but the sounds of it), or know exactly which DRAM timing settings to manually configure in the BIOS.In the end, I managed to get all 4 sticks running properly, but not until a whole lot of setup pain.Fast RAM, but the tight timings and initial setup headaches make it hard to work with. Using Asus P7P55D Pro, Intel i7-860, 2x2Gb.This review was modfied by poster j 01-18-10 09:02 AM This review was modfied by poster @ 01-18-10 09:55 AM |

Great RAM and performance
Comment:
Lowest latency RAM for the money (only 7.5). Heat spreaders are high quality, and Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit gives this RAM a 7.5 performance rating. |

OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory
Cons:You lose sleep over all the negative reviews
Pros:CostWorks r 1.5V on my Intel DX38BT (discontinued) Comment:
Maybe this product does have a higher problem rate than others, but my setup was PnP after a quick BIOS adjustment (my DX38BT default is 1066 7-7-7-16-1T r 1.5V).I've got it running at 1333 7-7-7-20-1T r 1.5V. 1.65V makes no difference in my setup.Zero errors on Memtest - I tested for at least 8 passes.I have no intent to OC, so I didn't try faster timings. I'd buy another 4GB. |

Good price vs performance
Comment:
I bought this to upgrade my Intel DP45SG to 6GB (2x2GB, 2x1GB, all OCZ Platinum same specs). Had trouble at first. Had to manually set RAM specs in BIOS. Memtest86 showed errors. Set BIOS mem specs to 8-8-8-21 1333MHz 1.7V and so far no probs! OCZ rebate is BS IMHO and should be tweaked to improve customer satisfaction.. they make you jumps through hoops unnecessarily in hopes that you will give up. Otherwise, great service and delivery from TD. |

i got this ram in a kit with the dp55wb intel MOBO and took some thinking to figure out how to get it working, all you have to do to get it working is put only one stick in first then in the bioas change the voltage from 1.65 to 1.5. after i did this i put the other stick in and it automaticly changed the secodn one. then restart and worked PERFACTLY!!! and bye doing this ram will stay cooler and last longer. great i cant ask 4 much more. gaming quality ram run all kinda of games at max everything with my XFX hd 5770 AMAZING!!!! |

Happy with this product
Comment:
This was my only set of RAM I purchased for they system I was building. After I had purchased it, I saw bad reviews come up and got alittle concerned. After installing them and turning on the power, everything ran great. Have had it running for quite awhile now and no problems With my AMD Quad. Voltage is low and performance is great! |

My best-worse set of DDR3
Comment:
Starting performance was top notch on clean Windows7, Core i5 install, but a few days later and one stick failed and any computer using it could not load the OS. Started RMA process, and on the day I received authorization, the remaining good stick started to kick out blue screens as well. |

Too Risky
Comment:
Stay away from this batch of OCZ ram. I had memory test errors on both sticks, blue screens of death and absolutely wonky performance. These all went away when I switched the ram. |

Don't bother. One stick of memory came dead. Now I have to deal with returning it to OCZ for a new one. Spend more money and get a better product. |

Blue Screen of Death is Back!
Comment:
Terrible memory. Within 24 hours I had a blue screen of death which resulted in a serious data loss. After running the memory through MIR it had bad sectors running under numerous voltage levels. Absolutely terrible memory. Stay Away. |

Some finesse and experience may be needed to get this to run on your board. If your OS hangs in the starting windows or after you choose to write to disk in Ubuntu (9.04) the kernel is probably having difficulty loading properly from your memory. In my case setting the timing and speed manually was required even after a bios flash. For the price however and considering it is low voltage (which most likely rules out overclocking) this is not a horrible product.
