OCZ Platinum 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory
Cons:Higher voltage than some
Pros:Worked right out of the boxTight timings Comment:
These things have the tightest timings I have seen in this price range. Usually you have to spend an extra 30 or 40 to get timings as tight as these. I have not OC'd them too much yet. |

OCZ Platinum 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory
Cons:The price and OCZ rebate processing is not the best in the world. Could have lower price! The voltage could also be lower, but I am not complaining.
Pros:The performance of this RAM is excellent and pairs nicely with AM3 CPUs. Comment:
I bought 2 of these kits since they were on sale at the time, I am currently running 4x2GB on one machine and 2x2GB on another. I have the RAM running at the full 1600Mhz and it seems very stable, and relatively cool. They run very nicely at the 1600Mhz speed, however I was required to use 2T for CR to get it to run stable. I believe having 8GB on a board is a must right now, and for the price of these dimms I couldn't resist! |

OCZ Platinum 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory
Cons:- Requires some tweaking to optimize
Pros:- Fast- Reliable- Good quality Comment:
Very good ram. Fast, reliable (no dead sticks as of yet) and comes with OCZ lifetime warranty. No XMP profiles though so you may need to know your way round your motherboard to be able to tweak the memory and optimize it. Also a bit pricey and may not be worth the premium over the OCZ Gold. By most accounts does not offer significant improvements over a similarly spec'd gold kit. |
The OCZ platinum is my choice for customers looking for bang for buck performance on triple channel memory. Lifetime warranty, excellent CAS latency (7-7-7!) and good memory clock speed makes this a no brainier. About the only problems with this memory is that it can get a little hot when overclocked with the small heat spreaders. But keep it reasonable or run a memory cooler and you're ok
