I didnt acquire mine here, but these items are pretty great. The OCZ forums reps are speedy to answer your inquiries, and enable you. Installation guidelines suck...preserve it easy...it's virtually as straightforward as plug and play. I had practical experience with RAID just before this, so if you are coming from the similar spot I did, you have to set controllers to AHCI or just disable them to get the Revo to be the boot drive...there was a studying approach with trial and error right here, but im not typing a story. |

Quite rapidly. Straightforward to install. Still pricey compared to standard difficult drive. Won't function with each and every setup. No drive disc included, had to download drivers from the web. I'm running a Phenom X3 720 on a Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P motherboard (had to use up my 2nd x16 slot). Booted Windows 7 just fine right after putting in the drivers. Was also in a position to use my existing raid array. Thought it would be far more hard but it was genuinely a piece of cake. |

This is stunningly quickly! It barely provides you time to read the word "loading" when booting up windows. Shortly after obtain they dropped the value of the 80gb revodrive to par with the 50gb. ? Makes no sence. who desires a 50gb 1 when the 80gb 1 is exact same cost. I wish i waited a week lol. Now this is exactly where it gets ugly and as considerably as i feel that this thing deserves eggs for compatibility, its my fault for getting faith in compatibility of a high finish mobo with a high end ssd and not hunting into depth on the subject. This ssd is extremely incompatible with the Crosshair IV formula and a excellent number of asus motherboards. The problem is not really the revodrive but more so its asus's incompatibility for pci-e ssd's. I am 1 of the very fortunate individuals when it comes to pairing these two with each other. i have successfully installed windows 32 bit on this drive soon after failing with bluescreens and quite a few crashes/ freezes when trying win 64 bit and giving up. With win 32 bit installed i boot at insane speeds even though its nonetheless relatively buggy with 32bit installed as the drive will crash the desktop leaving nothing but background pic and mouse. I have identified your able to attemt to open taskmanager from here but it ends with the drive unable to find such a program and restarting the computer.Anybody looking into a single of these ought to Very first look into the compatibility of this and there existing computer 1st. and definitely purchase the 80gb not 50gb as they are similar price lol |

I've had this SSD for about a month now, testing it on several systems and I have to say it's difficult to go back to common HD's(like cable high-speed vs dial up under no circumstances go back!) Was abet confused at 1st with the installation. but after the initial install it was all downhill. |

Fast and uncomplicated install, Regular raid kind Install for Win 7 x64 with drivers on a usb flash drive. Really quickly boot, all apps that are installed on it load nearly immediately. Require to test it with a beefy plan / game. Cost per Gig still high. May pick up a 120g and drop my raptors, if the price gets down to 200. I7-950, Gigabyte x58a-ud3r, 12gɥx4g ddr3, OCZ Revo 50g(OS), 2x raptor 74g stripe(game), 2tb Seagate(data). |

will blow most ssd out of the water. just unbelievably quickly. 95% of the motherboards out there, will not boot from a pci-x drive. not a fault of ocz necessarily, but if nobody supports your item... what excellent is it? ive dug via their support forums, and however, there arent a lot of mb that will work with this as a BOOTABLE drive. the drive will work as a secondary in almost anything. as stated, do your investigation. its going to take a lot of work to come across just the correct combination for this to be bootable (motherboard manufacturers dont precisely plaster this facts out in the open). i have tried, and failed, with four various boards now, and gave up. |

OCZ RevoDrive 50GB PCIe X4 Sandforce SF-1200 SSD Solid State Disk Flash Drive
Cons:
SIL controller (booo!)not a true hardware raidsmall, $$$$
Pros: good price when on surprise sale + rebatevery very fastbootableSandforce controllers Comment:
The best choice for a budget os drive. Runs on a PCIe bus, so your not limited by the SATA controller bandwidth. Is bootable (unlike many of the more expensive competitors). Unfortunately, it uses a fake raid solution based on the SIL chipset. This really diminishes the robustness of the resulting solution. Still, for the price, its an awesome deal, and will beat any single drive value line SSD solution. |
