Wow. This is my first SSD and I must say it is amazing. As forums have recommended, I changed from IDE to AHCI prior to installing Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Installation was amazingly fast, and post-install I ran the WEI and came back got 7.7 for the drive! Installing Photoshop CS5 tonight and this will turn out to be my primary post-processing rig. Unlike other individuals, I can't seriously complain about the price. Yeah, SSD is nevertheless very costly, but you can't truly compare it to a mechanical drive from a GB/$ perspective...you're paying for performance and reliability (I hope). Nevertheless, I don't know exactly where all of the 90GB went. Right away soon after installing the OS, I only had like 67GB cost-free. I know Win7 didn't take up 23GB, so exactly where did it go? Got this when it was on sale for like 赇. Then had the particular 20% off coupon and a ฮ rebate, and the factor efficiently cost me 贄. Can't beat that. |

- High Speed compared to classic tough drives.- 3.5 enclosure makes it easy to install in any regular Computer case.- Drastically decreased my PCs boot time and shutdown. Also produced other programs fire off instantaneously. - High price per GB compared to regular tough drives.- A lot of SSDs are 2.five" size with an adapter that will make it fit in a 3.5" slot. This SSD will not perform on a laptop. |

Win 7 Ultimate boots in 30 seconds from pressing the on button. Shutdown in 2 - 3 seconds. I'll never go back to a rotating disk once more on boot drives. Naturally the cost, but on specific offers it's reasonable. Installed in Toshiba Satellite L355D-S7901 as a replacement for the completely lame 5400 rpm drive it came with. Due to the fact I have a home server for storage and don't have to take dozens of gigabytes with me it's best. Specs say 285M read뢫M write, I'm getting 260M read롾M write. Makes this appear like a absolutely new machine. VMs making use of VMWare Player boot up in ~ 20 seconds, shut down in about 4. I couldn't be happier. |

The Drive is fantastic so far.Overall Program Performance is a lot far better.Benchmarks appear ok. Back to Benchmarks, soon after operating several different benchmarks on this drive, I have to say they are all more than the place, Burst could hit 250 then back to 140MB/S then up to 260ish, Might be my system but I doubt it, as I have read else exactly where about persons getting the similar difficulties... I have also done a Firmware update, Nonetheless the similar. If I could do it once more I would have gotten a corsair p128, My wife's corsair nova 32GB in her technique appears to be considerably additional stable as far as speeds and benchmarks go.Over all it is a solid performer, just not as good As I would have hoped. |

Boot time into Windows is ridiculous. With this drive, you really should constantly be initial when zoning into new zones or when beginning up a new round in games. ??? Awesome pickup. Initial install gave me some hickups, but just operator error fixed soon after I got the BIOS settings appropriate. Running good for nearly a year now. |

Runs extremely fast; Windows boot in seconds, no loading when I logged in. Opening browsers and programs such as MS Office had been close to instant. It was gorgeous... but it had its complications. From time to time it would fail to go into sleep mode, and I would have to difficult boot my program, which informed me that there was an BSOD connected to the drive. Stopped immediately after a while, but it was annoying for a couple of days. Also, the drive died soon after three weeks, certainly a con. All of a sudden stopped recognizing in the BIOS, then it recognized, then it wouldn't load into Windows; seemed to load forever I guess. Would not let me run recovery either. Then, stopped attempting to go into Windows altogether. Failed some drive read tests, so time to RMA it and see how OCZ handles that... Well, I'll give OCZ an additional shot, granted their consumer assistance does a good job. Hopefully I didn't get unlucky even though. Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry for the issue. Quite, quite quick. Extremely quiet. Plenty of space. This difficult drive breathed new life into a 4 year old computer system.I like how slim it is, leaves lots and lots of space in the drive bay region for a lot more drives None so far, it's a excellent drive and is quite rapidly. I wish I had waited a week. They now have an even cheaper deal on it. Oh effectively! |

Mine came loaded with the 1.29 firmware. Though this was rapidly outdated, I think I was lucky not having to deal with an earlier version. I was able to load windows 7 with out concern. Quite speedy drive, I was up and running more rapidly that I had pictured. Even though not timely, I received my rebate. Wish it had much more space! Forum help. Though it is good to have truly staff on the forum, discovering the necessary data can be tricky. Update procedures can adjust, and there are really a handful of model numbers obtainable. The final link I followed for a firmware update was to a dropbox account, and it had been disabled for high visitors. Feels like an "enthusiast" web site rather than a business web site. Though no longer in "infancy," so to speak, there is nonetheless fairly a bit to be ironed out for SSD's. I couldn't imagine jumping into these a year ago. Opinions on how to setup an SSD with windows vary wildly. Almost each and every point I've seen included a counter point posted by somebody, but there are some common points to switch that seem affordable. I moved my Users folder (via restore disk command prompt and mklink,) downsized pagefile, and a couple of other issues I can't recall at the moment. Discover a excellent guide on-line. Although I admittedly had mine up and running prior to I began looking into settings. I caught the timing just right, shell shocker with discount code. Add the rebate in and my total value was just over 100$. New egg, your promotions work, as I would not have purchased an SSD otherwise! |

It was a extremely excellent price for what must have been a super excellent SSD in truth its ranked like five or possibly 6 of all time benchmarks on SSD's (at that time) but mine was just barely quicker than my 2tb 5400 rpm spinpoints and in raid my spinpoints would kill this and offer 44 times as significantly storage, it have to have been defective due to the fact I get virtually 110 mbps typical and 185 mbps peak read on a spinning platter old school technology 5400 rpm 2tb difficult drive and as far as write speed the drive could not even complete a write test with HDtune pro Mine need to have been defective simply because it never came close to what it stated it would. I got a peak read speed (not typical but peak) of 180 mb/s fresh from the box and about 150 right after windows was on it. I utilized distinct sata ports, esata ports, sata cables, power cables anything. So I sent it back to newegg who was gracious enough to let me get a refund considering that it would not be replaced ahead of the rebate expired but newegg took บ bucks from me for a discout on a 2tb drive that had absolutely nothing at all to do with this Ughhh what a discomfort in the neck, it is the initial and only thing ever newegg has accomplished to me that was not very good but on each and every other thing ever newegg has completed the quite finest and gone above and beyond what I could ever expect. I am sad to to lose ten bucks plus a super good deal that need to have been an ultimate high top quality great SSD and that I waited a long time for it to be a decent cost, I just hope newegg will see that they created a mistake and give me my ten bucks back given that I have spent thousands with them and that a excellent sale on a ultra rapid SSD comes along soon I hate getting a WEI rating of five.9 when it would be 7.6 if it was not for the difficult drive |

What a difference from a hard disk drive. 205 MB/s physical disk benchmark, 270 MB/s cached file program benchmark in SiSoft Sandra. Windows boot time is under 30 seconds. SATA300 interface. It would be greater with SATA600, but not a major deal. I'm really glad I bought this drive. I use it strictly for the OS and programs. I advocate this drive to anybody. I can only picture how rapidly a PCI-E SSD is. |

None Nicely worth the value. Hard drives are the last bottleneck in property computing. I loaded Windows 7 64 bit and all of my programs on this drive with plenty of space to spare. All of my bulk storage is on my typical hard drives. Will possibly get a Intel SSD for my laptop due to the fact they use less energy then other brands. |

Quick drive, three.five" form factor, Enterprise class. 1 out of two drives purchased has failed with much less than a month of use. But my actual issue is OCZ. It took 4 days to get an RMA and I have to pay the return postage. They have to know that these drives are failing at a greater than regular rate and yet they bury their collective head in the sand and pretend that there is nothing out of the ordinary going on. A very first rate corporation would acknowledge the problem and take proper care of their buyers to produce lengthy term business. As an example I had a difficulty with my NZXT case and called them. Well, not only did a genuine individual answer the telephone but they sent a replacement portion out the next day and paid for two day FedEx shipping without having my even asking for it. That's client support and fosters a loyal consumer base.I was going to purchase various Vertex three drives for each residence and work but not now. Yes, on paper it is a killer SSD but I will suffer with a much less-killer item from a far more trustworthy business. Manufacturer Response:Hello, we aplogize for the challenge. Speed, reliability. Unconventional form factor (but fits). If you're installing this into the drive sled of a Mac Pro, be conscious that the screws will be really tight. It's ok if the plastic starts to 'bend' a small, it appears like it's built to do this. But why the heck OCZ chose such a strange spaceship-like form factor is beyond me. Square and plain (like their two.five" drives) would be much far better. |

No longer is my harddrive the bottleneck in my technique. Following creating a couple of tweaks as can be researched on-line for SSD's my drive is also listed in WEI at 7.7, far far better than I expected. If I didn't have to wait for my mobo to post I would be logged into my program in about 10 seconds immediately after powering my pc on. Following that almost everything pops instantly. I no longer wait for menus to popup and twiddle my thumbs waiting for an app to load. I held out until I located this drive on NewEgg along with a promo so I paid properly under Ū/GB, so price is still up there but reasonable soon after enhancing my pc's performance immensely. For those indicating that the drives are not fast or finding a low WEI score, do some study as you probably have a setting that isn't correct or need to make a few minor Windows tweaks that will boost the drives performance, hopefully you are running Windows 7 as it will aid tremendously...my Core i5 750 has been thanking me considering that I installed this as my OS drive. |

Built a system using this drive for windows and my commonly applied apps, and it's great. Every little thing is zippy. Opening firefox is like double clicking a folder, as in it just pops up instantly. Photoshop CS5 about two-3 seconds. Quite modest and really light, as others have noted it's not the huge square thing pictured. It's about as thin as my wallet is right now... lol. Not newegg's fault, but FDD's are seriously expensive compared to standard difficult drives. You can get a two terabyte non-flash drive for 70-90 bucks suitable now... about 4 cents a gig. This factor clocks in at Ū.30 a gig. But feel of it this way, how a lot is it worth it to you to get a 50% overall performance boost? Prior to buying a new processor or much more ram, invest in one of these. |
When I began from scratch with Win7 64 bit, I began to understand the rapidly boot occasions (ㅇ seconds) but it took various weeks ahead of I gave up to reach that point. Nonetheless not receiving a higher WEI score than 5.9 which I had just before upgrading. Is there one thing that need to make this the principal drive that installing Windows on it as letter C doesn't currently do? Spent weeks trying to salvage my old setup by porting old boot drive over to this, but ultimately formatted and started from scratch regardless of reading Acronis could do the trick.
