OCZ Vertex LE Limited Edition 50GB 2.5IN SATA2 Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:
Slower if over-benched
Pros: Fast random write, globally fast read.Low NAND wearing. Comment:
This is a SandForce SSD, the first of the OCZ series. It's equivalent to the Vertex 2. SandForce SSD are great, but don't forget it got internal data compression. If you write a compressed file to the SSD (ex: MP3 or MPG) it won't be as fast as if you write a doc file.I have 0 issue with the drive, it runs on an old chipset (SATA 1). For now, I'm on Firmware 1.10, I can't upgrade to Firmware 1.11 because of the chipset is in IDE, no AHCI available. It's fast, believe me, having a SATA 2 chipset would not result in a computer twice as fast. I'm very satisfied of it. |

OCZ Vertex LE Limited Edition 50GB 2.5IN SATA2 Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:
speeds are not what I expected from what other people are getting
Pros: faster than hdd's. Comment:
I bought 2 of these and raid 0 them. I installed it without any problems. I did speed tests and found that I was getting low test results. I was expecting higher results and was getting lower results than a single ssd. Could be something on my end but I am somewhat disappointed. |
Fast drive, but problems with the current firmware that causes the drive to reboot after waking up from sleep. Doesn't happen to every computer, but only certain motherboards. If I were to choose again, I'd probably choose the Vertex 2, but this one is still highly recommended.
