OCZ ZX Series 850W ATX12V 24PIN Active PFC 80 Plus Gold 70A Power Supply 140MM Fan Black 5 Yr Wrty
Cons:Cables really short!
Pros:Very high-end-looking (came with a little bag for extra cables)QuietTotally ModularNo power-related issues yet Comment:
I used this unit in a system build back in January. Purely as a PSU, I can't fault it. I've never had any power-related issues with it on two GTX560TI's in SLI.The big problem I DID encounter with it was that the modular cables were all very short! I couldn't use my case's cable-routing for my 24-pin and 8-pin power connectors and still have them reach; and my system is mATX! Even b-lining them straight across everything like I'm doing now probably wouldn't have worked in a full ATX system!I had to re-wire my system three times due to these cables not reaching! Not a problem I expected to have in a higher-end unit designed for power-hungry multi-GPU setups. So, Buyer Beware! All OCZ PSUs seem to have these same short cable lengths! Am I missing something here, or is OCZ?! |

OCZ ZX Series 850W ATX12V 24PIN Active PFC 80 Plus Gold 70A Power Supply 140MM Fan Black 5 Yr Wrty
Cons:depending on layout of case/how you install the psu, some cables are a bit short (main atx power)
Pros:80+ gold rated, full modular setup Comment:
powers everything in my case as needed, with tons of head room. got it cheap. i do get a highpitched buzzing when u listen for it while standing right next to the psu, but i think most psu's get that noise. full modular keeps case nice and clean is good routing. |
