OKGEAR 24" SATA II Cable

Extended sufficient to reach from my motherboard to any SATA device in my Full tower (Bravo). Locking mechanism is a bit flimsy and one particular or two cables don't maintain them on as effectively as the others. Plenty of length for most builds. If you have a PCI card with SATA connections and also have an obscenely substantial case (or you just like space for cable management) you may possibly want to appear at cables about 28-36 inches.

If you're contemplating an external backup alternative, you could want to appear at the Western Digital Mybook Studio series - they have GreenPower drives up to 4TB and 1394b, which isn't as good as eSATA but a HELL of a lot greater than USB2. The good factor is that those (and most other) external enclosures like that will shut off when the machine is off, and go to low-power and cease the drive from spinning when you're not working with it. Its a cable. It worked fine out of the box, very good connectors on both ends are extremely long. Connectors had clips on them also which is really handy. Shipping cost more then the cable itself.

Steel reinforced (clips?) on either end look to assure a tight connection. Ninety degree angle connector makes for a good clean install. For me, this a single was also long -my fault, not the product's. I'm obtaining many SATA connectors to essentially be kind of flimsy. I lost a drive in a mirror and it was only the cable coming out of the drive.

None, just make certain the 90 degree angle functions for your install, you almost certainly can't use two 90 degree ends on the mobo side if the ports are appropriate subsequent to each and every other. A single end it strait, and the other has a 90 degree head.

It's a solid cable, with tiny clips to enable preserve it secure. I like the 90 degree bend. It helps save some room below my 8800 GT card. It's black, which is a enormous plus to me. I truly don't like flahsy or vibrant items in my case. It matches my black mesh wrapped power provide cables. I broke off one of the clips. I forgot they were there, and mongo pulled too challenging on it. I just snapped it back into location... poof, fixed. I didn't get any performance increase or decrease with these, but it's long and operates fine. They are affordable sufficient that I think I'll add three or four additional on my next newegg order.

none cable finish cover came off in my hand as I was attaching to slave drive. I snapped it back on. Off once again, super glue. Took time.

The cable is extended. none This cable works properly for attaching a challenging drive in a deep enclosure exactly where the HDDs are far from the motherboard.

It functions. Not totally free? I bought it too long for the inside of the case. Was subconciously expecting difficulties with twisting and flexing like the old ATA cables. No such issues with these thin cables.

They're a cable, gimme a break. 24" is fairly sweet in my beast box. They weren't free with the drives. "OKGEAR?!?" That name doesn't actually inspire confidence. But in case there was a question, yeah the cables perform.
