this replaced my simple HP printer which was ancient, probably 5 years old, and compared to this, i am amazed the printers now can do so much, for like the same price, or even less than my old HP printer, whats cool is i can take pictures from my camera and print it directly from this printer, and scan documents straight to pdf on to a usb drive, and print double sided saves me some paper too, highly recommend this for general use

This is an excellent printer from canon. It has a lot of useful features. The overall quality is excellent, especially the scanner which provides high resolution copies.

Another top quality Canon product. I used to use seperate printer/scanner set ups becuase of quality issues... but after my printer packed it in I decided to go for an all-in-one. I got this on a great deal, and it is awesome. it uses a 5 ink cart. system, 3 colors, photo blk and pigment (text) black. The cartridges are decently priced too. Photo print quality is top notch, text is sharp and clear. The scanner works quite well, and with the built-in, flip up LCD you don't even need a computer to use it. I would have prefered a black finish (like my wife's 480), but it's nothing that would keep me from buying this again, or recommending it.
