These are great little speakers. USB means the signal is digital all the way to the speaker, and it's easier to plug in since you can use any USB port.It's nice to find a good set of speakers that doesn't come with a crappy sub. All subs do on mid or low end speakers is drone everything out with bass. It becomes stupid when you need to turn the volume up to hear voices in a movie or game, but then the bass becomes so stupidly loud, distorted and annoying it just wrecks everything.The volume controls on the one speaker interacts directly with the OS volume control so you don't have 2 different volumes (OS amp volume and external speaker amp volume) to deal with like traditional speakers.Overall, good capable sound in a small footprint. I'm tempted to get a 2nd pair for another computer.
