Patriot 4GB Flash Drive (USB2.0 Portable)
Comment:
Tiny in size Watching paint dry is a greater way to invest time than waiting for this thing to accept files. What took a couple minutes to get off my 500 mb Memorex took six minutes to place on this Patriot! I am operating XP and it mentioned to reboot to get it to run adequately! I have by no means observed xp do that with any other thumbdrive, and I have employed many. So everytime I go to a coworker and hand them this Patriot, I have to tell them to reboot so it functions effeciently? That is unacceptable. A negative choice. Disappointed.

Comment:
It's a 4 gig flash drive. No computer software installed on it. Has a red LED to indicate data transfer. Ideal component is that it's super low-cost and functions. The rubber casing is not blue... it's far more of a violet. And it slides off very very easily. There's a hole on the rubber casing but it's truly tiny. Also, if it slides off easily, does it do substantially use for holding your flash drive on to a key ring? So what you are actually paying for is a tiny silver flash drive with an optional but not incredibly beneficial casing. But hey, all I'm performing is using it for external storage for issues I want to transfer to computers that don't belong to me, which it does nicely. Pleased Newegging.

I enjoy this flash drive. Couldn't be happier. Transfer speed handles anything (movies, homework, music, and so on.) that I want it for. It is a bit snug on my key ring. I lose the cap a lot. I contacted consumer support and they mailed me a new a single which I received inside a couple of days. Really nice buyer support. Nice adequate to make me a repeat buyer from them.

Smaller and low-cost. Slow, slow, slow, like absolutely nothing I have seen ahead of. Bought this for a PVR seeking for a low-cost resolution. It may retailer 4 gigs, but as a PVR recorder it is useless. I had no trouble with a USB adapter with a four gig SD card in it, but this was just plain unable to keep up with the data rate. Will give it to my kid for school wordprocessing use. Manufacturer Response:Dear Consumer,Thank you for deciding upon Patriot Memory. We apologize for the inconvenience that this matter has triggered you. Please contact assistance@patriotmem.com for any concerns you may have. With Regards,Ramguy

Properly Priced and extreamly tiny. The "gell" cover slid off the memory stick the initially time I took it out of a USB port. I wouldn't feel very comfortable carrying this around for worry of loosing it.

quite modest, silicon casing bounces if dropped, case not glued on can be removed with some work, maybe embed in a Pez or a thing easily, also will fit in pretty much any usb port, no matter how crowded. slow, but for the value that must be expected

I've had this for pretty much a year. I needed a thing tiny I could stick in a essential pocket and have on me at all occasions and this, sans rubber casing, is the tiniest and most durable flash drive I can get. Anything smaller sized would be those flimsy half-USB-thickness plastic wafers. I love the all metal cladding. No complaints about the read/write speed. The downside of using it without the rubber casing is that there's no grip to unplug it. And it runs a little hot plugged in even if you're not reading/writing. Immediately after losing and acquiring this drive many times more than, a USB port power surge finally killed it. Just gives me an excuse to acquire the now-less costly eight Gb version.

Great efficiency on Linux, remarkably tiny, vivid colors, efficient "activity" light visible from each leading and bottom of device (great for the USB ports on Dell monitors), activity light does not remain on continually to blind you! Tiny size fits the scale of my Eee. Cap stays on securely. Sticks out from USB port by 29mm; 23mm with no rubbery case. Awww, man, it's down to Ű.49! (I paid a bit much more a couple of months back.) A bit slow on Windows XP (Pro/MC), but that's most likely due to Windows's horrible USB support. Wants much better color alternatives. Rubber case does slide off, but it takes some work. Will be obtaining the orange 8GB for some close friends for Christmas. These are precisely what USB drives ought to be: tiny, speedy, pretty.I attached elastics to mine and produced it into a beaded bracelet. Raised lettering does not cause any wrist discomfort.

This is a great little drive- uncomplicated to put files onto and straightforward to retrieve files from. Plus, it is extremely little- it barely sticks out from the side of my laptop, which is a plus. Nice rubber shell. None.

The smaller size is excellent for my eeepc. Superior capacity for 15 bucks. Quickly. Functions each and every time I've asked it to. What much more could you ask for? I haven't observed any. Worked so nicely I purchased another 1 for a gift. Didn't be concerned about getting embarrassed by gift failure!

Incredibly nice drive for the price. I've bought various and they all work fine The initially time it was plugged in it took a sec for the computer system to recognize it. I dropped the drive into a pitcher of iced tea. I swiftly took it from the pitcher and rinsed it off. Nonetheless operates fine. Very pleased.

Smaller, but the rubber makes it a bit thicker. This device did not function on two older computers. Linux and xp had been both utilized for these tests. It does perform fine on other machines I have even though. The rubber fell is a bit bulkier then expected. The red LED activity is obnoxious. More than all it would have been a good device if it did what I needed it too, but it doesn't.It took 7 to arrive in the mail and I live 20 mins from the NJ new egg ware house .. go figured Manufacturer Response:Dear Client,Thank you for choosing Patriot Memory. Men and women have commented on the slow speed of this series of drives, so now that I have the 2GB model, I will try to tell you specifically how slow they are. I compared the 2GB X-Porter Mini to my 1GB SanDisk Cruiser Micro and timed both in a series of tests. I appreciate the style of these X-Porter Minis, which are a lot like the Cruiser Micros, but they are considerably slower in writing significant files. I tested each units on a massive file which was 715MB and on a folder containing 720 modest files in 35 subdirectories, 717MB total size. My timings are ordered as Patriot --- SanDisk. Write significant file: 156 sec. --- 68 sec. *** Read large file: 65 sec. --- 62 sec. *** Delete large file: 27 sec. --- 1 sec. *** Write small files: 264 sec. (avg.) --- 232 sec. *** Read tiny files: 38 sec. --- 35 sec. *** Delete tiny files: 39 sec. (avg.) --- 103 sec. (Newlines don't appear to operate in NewEgg's evaluation form, so I formatted everything in one line.) I ran each and every test multiple times to make confident my final results had been consistent. The timings marked "(avg.)" varied somewhat widely from trial to trial, so I took an typical. As you can see, the writing of the single large file showed the greatest difference in speed, though the tiny files also showed a important distinction, the X-Porter becoming slower in each situations. (I should note that the X-Porter's finest speed in the latter test was 246 sec. and the worst was 283 sec. in five trials.) The delete trials showed opposite speed relationships between the large file and the modest files for some cause. The X-Porter appears optimized for numerous modest files rather than significant files.

My major complaint about USB drives it how unnecessarily WIDE they tend to be. Either that or they are so modest and slick I can't pull them out! The little slick metal ones drive me nuts for this reason. Rarely do I write a assessment but I'm so tickled to locate a drive that I can not only get a GRIP on but is modest... AND if I wanted... I could take the rubber cover off and and put 1 appropriate subsequent to another when USB ports are tightly packed together.. as on a Mac Book Pro MBP. In fact, even with the rubber cover on I could put them next to each other. Finally! I would like more colors for various tasks/clients.

Tough as nails and reliable. I carry 1 about in my pocket every day at work. It has been by means of the wash twice and nonetheless works fine. I maintain a stock of these to hand out as needed at function. Obtaining tougher to locate. Don't quit creating these Patriot! The brief size of these makes it less likely to become a lever that breaks your USB ports.

Rubber housing = waterproof. Laundry shows that. Affordable price for 4g.Typical speeds, but low cost drive so no docking of eggs. The drive slips out of the casing very easily. Put a drop of superglue on the back, slid it back in and it hasn't moved since. Excellent item, adore the extremely little size. Never ever notice that it's in my pocket, which is why it goes through the laundry... but it's still working fine! Casing is a lot more of a purple-ish color than blue with a bright red activity led.
