Cons:-No amd BEMP in AMD OverDrive (AMD's fault though)-Rather fugly in comparison to other kits in its price range-Timings in the package were only written on the sticks themselves, which don't help when you're trying to set up proper timings and voltage in bios without access to information or internet....??? It would be common courtesy if you ask me to include the timings somewhere on the packaging. Duh
Pros:-Good low profile heat spreader-Stable at stock settings-Reviews show impressive overclocks for a relatively inexpensive kit, though I haven't proven this for myself and don't plan to. Comment:
-Took some figuring to set up. Motherboard set stock voltage to 1.5 as opposed to 1.65 and timings at 11 11 11 twentysomthingiforget as opposed to 9 9 9 24.-As i said, no BEMP in AMD OverDrive even though its a black edition kit. If patriot is going to blame AMD for this, take the bloody AMD Black Edition boasting off the damn kit, false advertising.-Runs as rated, all that matters in the end. |

Don't have much to say. It works just fine. The only issue is that AMD ovedrive does not detect it as Black edition which would allow oc through windows instead of BIOS. I have not done any benchmarks on it yet. Windows Experience reports it at 7.5 at stock.I don't think I am going to bother OC it as it does it's job as it is.My motherboard is running it at 1.5v so it's speed seems to be slower at 685Mhz per channel, although the timing is still at 9-9-9-24. Don't know enough to say whether it's good or not. |
