I installed this in an Asus G73JH and my boot times have gone from 36 sec to 16 sec. My WEI went from 5.9 to 7.6. Will acquire an additional to run RAID . none Unreal!!! GET IT NOW!!!!

This is a huge improvement over my Velociraptor raid setup,just before my cold boot times was 48 sec's with this it is around 24 give or take 1 or two,and as far as app's it loads significantly quicker but the read is very good also,it is worth the cash if you are actually a power user but for everyday use Id say stick with your platter drive! The cost per gigabyte is way to significantly for the gains you get and is the om reason Im taking a egg away from it rating,I know how much it was when I bought it but still a little steep for a working mans billfold! Patriot memory is excellent stuff I have but to rma any!

works as it is described to work and problably the best 1 on the market place for stabilaty. 2nd ideal for speed. can be applied with windows xp but you want a 3rd party software program to maintain it. I use diskeaper pro works wonderfulinstaltion for me was really esy. even thoght this is my 1st ssd, but be conscious im incredibly skilled at instaling hardware and creating comps and acesing all the subprogames in windows which numerous here will have to study for a few weeks just to recognize let alone navigate 2 factors why i deducted one egg. very first of so reader will read this! if there like me they dont look at stellar reviews, just the poor 1"s lol :)second reason is this.there so a great deal hype about how quick ssd's are, and they are quickly and far beter then hdd"sbut ssds are restricted by quite a few elements, such as cd or dvd rom speeds,aditional challenging drives instaled, conection speed of internet when instaling to the ssd from the internet, and any other conected devise which comunicates with the ssd the only way ssd's are employed properly in my opinion is on a comp with restricted hardware with conections to the ssdor when the programes being applied are already on that ssd or a different ssd and comunication is in between it and the other ssd onlyfor the use i bougth mine for "it was a terrific improment"it replaced my old wd raptor 36 gig hdd "yea that old"i use it for old games that i nonetheless enjoy and won't work with my windows 7 64 bit setupi believe if you have older difficult drives "not the newer 7200 rpm black drives from wd" then its also very benifitialbut if you have newer ones your gona get a pretier number in windows 7 exp rating and slightly faster program openings and closing but if you expect more you will be disapointed for the price and sizes sold i feel its beter to wait till they get biger and cheper and when there able to replace the wd black drives altogether

This thing is fast, runs at specified speeds, and actually quiet.I just jumped on the SSD bandwagon and i'm not regretting it, Way faster. Not SATA 3 but who cares it's still seriously quick. This made a Massive distinction from my boring ol' Maxtor HDD. It took my windows rating to a 7.three! Programs open in an instant. Windows boot time is like 12 seconds from MoBo screen to desktop. When your desktop is loaded, you can use it immediately. I got one more SSD to transfer files and install games and it copied 2GB worth of files in about 15-20 seconds. The size. You can usually get a 2nd or 3rd SSD strictly to install programs. Keep a typical HDD for media storage although. SSD space is still valuable.

I have punished this drive testing it on numerous platforms with several OS's. It's a quite consistent piece of hardware, performs well. Outperforms any other SSD that I've employed, thanks to the sandforce controller. If you're not buying something with a sandforce controller, you're making the wrong purchase. It's little, but I knew that in buying it - I will get a larger one soon. None. Newegg ordering, processing and shipping was as expected, best.
