Patriot Mini II 4GB USB2.0 Retractable Flash Memory Drive Cyan
Cons:Very (emphasize very) difficult to plug into a usb port. Feels flimsy.
Pros:Cheap, Size Comment:
The pluggable portion of this slides out from underneath the aluminum casing to plug into a usb port. Good in theory, but very poorly executed here. Seems the designers neglected Newton's law of motion: every force is met with an equal and opposite force! That means it is almost impossible to plug this key in without the pluggable part sliding back into its protective casing. Oh and did I mention the plug part is made of some plastic which isn't really sized properly to the port? I mean it fits but only with significant pushing.Yes you can try to pinch and hold the plug out while you push in. Lets see how long that lasts before either 1) the flimsy plastic on the key breaks 2) you get frustrated or hurt your fingerIn summary: Get the patriot mini I instead. |
my experiences seem to be the exact opposite to the other reviewer. despite it's small size, this thing feels to be excellent quality. it's actually quite brilliantly designed, the thing slides out and then locks into place so it stays out as you shove it into the port. when you want to retract it, the natural position of your thumb is the button to close it.my only complaint is the lack of activity LED. xubuntu sometimes doesn't show a transfer dialog so the LED is all i have to go on.
