Patriot PCNASVK35S2 Valkyrie 2-Bay Network Attach
Cons:
Little to no supportNO NFS (eventhough the box clearly states otherwise)SLOW transfers!!!
Pros: Price? (not really)It's black...and there's a birdy on it. Comment:
I bought this and I was thrilled, untill I hit the forums on Patriots website which is nothing but anguish and misery from anyone who's purchased this product. This product isn't worth the low pricetag if you're looking for a NAS with any kind of features. Especially features listed on the box (like NFS...which it doesn't do).In short, i'm returning this for a refund due to the misleading box (no fault of NCIX) and I'm buying a QNAP from NCIX instead. |

Patriot PCNASVK35S2 Valkyrie 2-Bay Network Attach
Cons:
No print manual, only on CD. Not a big deal, but make sure you read it. Slow compare to $300 NAS, but you get what you paid for.
Pros: Great build quality, all aluminumVERY quietEasy to setup, and good packaging Comment:
Very good build, bought it to replace my DNS 323, cheaper and with much better build. Works with BT and MLDonkey, which my DNS323 doesn't have. I transfered all my video files to the Valkyrie and have it setup with the Box Office, been wroking great on streaming. Over all pretty satisfied with this little unit. Highly recommend if you are new to NAS or if you don't want to spend too much money |

Patriot PCNASVK35S2 Valkyrie 2-Bay Network Attach
Cons:
Not a real product, maybe once they update the firmware but I doubt it.
Pros: Cheap, that's the only thing going for it Comment:
I'll give you the list but here's the spoiler, this isn't a working product; spend a little more and buy something else.I already have a NAS and had little problem setting that one up, mainly it's the router that's the hassle with these things. The Valkyrie on the other hand is terrible.1. Setup software is very basic but works, unless you've changed the IP address of the drive, then it won't connect.2. Web access is glitchy, I gave it a go with XP (Firefox, IE), OSX (Firefox, safari), and Ubuntu (Firefox) and had problems with all of them, lots of connection failures and glitches.3. It cannot format the drives properly; I've crashed the web interface, crashed the NAS, basically a huge fail. I know it can be done but mine has found at least 3 different ways to screw it up, the last one being the best. Two 1 TB drives were JBOD'd into a 128MB Disk I could at least see on the network.4. Finally and here's the real killer, cooling. The top drive you put in will not get acceptable airflow. I only left it on for a day at most while I messed around with it and the top drive was running way too hot. I haven't run any tests but I'd expect a very short life for any hard drive in that slot.Basically this is a substandard product with I will be returning this week for a real NAS, I very much recommend you get something else.
