Does fairly significantly what I require it to do and fast. Read typically at 25+ MB/s although write rates are in between 11-14 MB/s. Quite great deal with the rebate, fairly a great deal got it for the price of the 8GB. I had the 8GB prior to this one. The 8GB was quicker in write rates. Most of the time for the 8GB was in the range of 16-18 MB/s while the 16 is 11-14 MB/s. Primary reason I got the 16GB despite the decrease in performance was simply because I necessary more memory due to the fact I had huge amount of files to carry about and an 8GB wasn't enough so returned the 8GB and purchased the 16GB. With the rebate it ended up being the similar price as the 8GB.

Got this to back up files, I didn't want to get a slow thumbdrive so I opted to pay a bit more to get the patriot after reading several review.

Superior size and low priced. Not extremely rapidly with some files... Not a bad deal for the price.

I just ran this through my washer. Rolling around in cold water for 30 minutes I found it between the washer and dyer (so it did not go for a dry cycle).I peeled off the rubber thinking this was toast, but it was bone dry inside. I plugged it into my computer and it works no problem.Lets hope the other two usb sticks on the same key chain work...

I have had the 32GB version for some time now and just recently got the 16GB for use with my Xbox 360. Great little drive to have! very reliable... When using this for anything over than storage for my xbox I format the drive to NTFS for improved speed while copying large files. 5 Stars indeed.

All of my thumb drives (about 20) seemed slow when running firefox portable & vlc portable. So I spent a little more for this one & have seen signifant improvement. Am very happy with this purchase.

Im in the desert and this little number is very durable. The case protects the drive from all the dust and sand in the air here.. Great for an outdoors portable storage system. Transfers are faster than all my other drives (consistently). Al in all a pretty good drive, I will be back to buy more just like it..

I average 10MB per second with file transfers over 1GB. Most of what I use this for consists of very large files, so it's hard to wait such a long time. I think I might use my external HDD because it gets an average of 30MB per second.

I have two of these now and use them both daily. They are top quality. While not the cheapest option, I think they are worth the extra money. I really like the rubber coating.

I calculate who had the best per gB price and for the quality with rebate this was the best. Plus it come armored and is water resistant. I have mine programmed with over a gb of system files that I carry with me all the time. Leaving me fourteen and a half to carry files, plenty.

My only minor issue with this item is that it comes pre-formatted as FAT32 not NTFS which means the maximum size for a single file is 3.5gb. Formatting it with NTFS wasn't a problem just a pain.

I bought this for a day and I try to do some speed test on it. It is very slow USB drive. It only have around 8-10MB/second for writing speed. It is very SLOW. I have a A-DATA 4G high speed USB drive. It can do 16MB/second for writing. I don't knwo why people said it is a fast USB drive. I am not happy with the speed for this USB drive.

So far, so good! The speed of the flash drive is excellent! The rubber is nice. The only thing that I am worry about it so far is the cap. I wish you can keep it attach with the flash drive somehow. Other than that excellent product and the price even better! Aplus

I have an 8GB and now this 16GB flash drive by Patriot. If you want to use one for anything other than putting pictures and documents on, these are the ones you should buy. I run portable browsers and full on applications from these and you can't tell you're not running them off a hard drive. Well worth the money!

I have 3 of these bad boys. All work Great. Pretty fast transfer speeds. I Watch 1080p Video on media box strait from flash drive, plays great. very durable, rubber encasing is like a shockproof shielding. End cap can get lost easy though if not placed on other end... Or stolen by cats.

I purchased this Patriot memory stick for my boyfriend for Christmas. He had been shopping for a good memory stick. I must say, I was attracted to the rubber coating and water-proof features. He is rough on equipment at times, so this was simply perfect for him.

Well, after one that dropped out on me unless I held it under tension in any computer that I put it in, and replacing it, (the reason for 3 on quality) the one I have now is working fine. Deleting and uploading files as needed.
