WORKING THIS DRIVE HARD AND DROPPED IN WHILE IT WAS TRANSFERING FILES (HAD IT ON EXTENSION CORD) AND IT DID NOT MISS A BEAT. I'll stick with made in the USA.

This flash drive is really fast. I tested it by downloading 7.5 GBs of pictures from my hard drive, and it took about half the time my Cruzer would need for the same. Good construction, and it comes with an extension cord for tight connections, plus a strap.

I'll add to the chorus here, great drive! Faster than could be reasonably expected, tough, and I even like the cap setup. I always lose little loose things like caps, but this one sticks on the end of the drive like a bic pen. Smart.

Cons: No software suite preloaded (big whoop) Pros: I couldn't wait to see what all the ''speed'' hype was all about. Upon delivery of the unit, I transferred over the contents of my 8 GB SanDisk Cruzer, using the hard drive as an intermediary. It took about 35 minutes to copy 16,862 items of various types, comprising 3.97 GB, from the SanDisk to the HDD. It took 8 minutes less to copy the files from there to the Xporter. I copied the files back onto the HDD from the Xporter for comparison; it took 1/5 as long as the Cruzer (7 minutes). Copying a 4.29 GB compressed copy of Ratatouille to the Xporter took 5 minutes. I didn't bother writing this to the Cruzer, or copying its original contents back. It takes much longer. And prior to the Xporter, my Cruzer was by far the fastest flashdrive I had. I have yet to try another flashdrive that approaches the speed of the Patriot Xporter, not even a pocket USB HDD. This thing is FAST!!!

I looked around in a lot of stores for a good drive and this one seemed like the way to go. Am not regretting the decision. Excellent drive for the price, pretty fast, and good bundle with USB extension cable and lanyard.

Readyboost is helping my laptop to open 5 seconds faster so I guess it's a bit useless for me ;). 8Gb is nice when I need to transfert a dvd from my main computer to my laptop without having to use the router that limit the speed to 5mb/sec. Extremely solid, I tested ;)

I just purchased the Xporter Xt Boost 16gb drive. This is by far the fastest drive I have used. Very good. I would recommend to anyone, and any more flash drives I buy will be these for sure. I was also impressed with the space. It shows 15.9gb available. I also bought an 8gb Corsair flash voyager. That only shows 7.51gb available. That is also fast, but the Patriot is noticeably faster. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

It's large, but not overly so. It includes a USB extender for times when it's a bit too big to fit somewhere.

Patriot speaks for itself...being in the Ram business forver offering lifetime warranty on their flash drives..actually thinking about a waterproof designed flashdrive and rubber housing to protect it. This is a great portable go anywhere storage device.

If you're looking for something slim and small look away but if you seek price and durability (rubber,waterproof,housing for the cap) I would recommend this one

Got this on sale for $20. This USB drive is really fast. I bought the Corsair Flash Voyager GT last year as it was one of (if not, THE) fastest flash drive at the time. I'm very impressed that the Patriot matches that performance but in a significantly larger memory capacity.Yes, it is bulky. Whatever you read on these reviews won't prepare you for the size!

I could't believe how cheap flash drives are! 8GB for 20 dollars. I have this running in readyboost mode and it works fine. The only problem I had was with the rubber protection cover its a bit big but I hear it can be removed easily.

I havent tried the water and shock resistant feature intensively (and i am not gonna do that).But I tried to use this as my readyboost for Vista since I only have 1GB for my computer, and it did improve the speed at start up from about 30 sec to 10 sec!!!When I am using it to transfer data to and from computers, the fastest speed can be as high as 60MB/s, which is indeed good for flash drives.All in all, great product with reasonable pricedefinitely recommand anyone who is interested in flash drives

Although, I would not recommend this. I left mine in my pants pocket and it survived being washed and dried!! Still works great.

Overall this drive seems incredibly sturdy.Your data would be safer in a drive like this rather than a cheap thin one.The speeds on the Xporter are really good.I like this drive big time.I was never really a fan of Patriot until I got this drive and some X-mini`s.I now think patriot as a top tier memory supplier.

A nice fast drive. I calculated a 17MB/sec write speed for a 330MB file. Well protected with a thick rubber coating. Kinda clunky looking, but a nice all-round drive.

Bought 2 of these, they are great. Fast transfer speeds, execing applications is handled perfectly. Casing is a sort of rubbery texture which feels nice, and the cap can be stored on the end when its being plugged in.
