I buy it to transfert some file from friend at school and to keep all my work on it. The transfert rate is realy good so I tranfert some file of 4 gb in about 2 or 3 min maximum.

Bought this to help transfer files between school and home computers and it fits the bill. Capacity is large enough for most needs and transfer rates are high enough that the wait isn't frustrating

The Patriot Xt is definitely recommended! It is speedy at 13-16mb/s write speed (goes up to 18 sometimes) and has an awesome read speed of over 30mb/s. It is a rather large USB flash drive, so maybe not a great choice for someone looking for something small. The rubber case protects the drive well although it can gather lint. Overall a great USB drive for those looking for a HIGH-speeed USB drive, not just some cheap 8gb take-forever-to-read/write drive. This review was modfied by poster @ 09-04-08 10:30 PM

I had an 4gb, an 8gb, and a ouple of 2gb and 1gb.I bought the 32gb, and so far no problem what so ever. as a rule.. always create a back up, after all... it is flash technologie.. nothing is safe.. but all my keys on the same key is amazing..

I love this little unit it is faster then i expected it to be. Being 8gb's i can load a movie on it and play it on PC or any other unit that accepts USB for playing movies.The unit is awesome for $29.99 on sale, how can you go wrong.I ahve already recommened this unit to others as it has impressed me that much.

Great. Antishock, Anti-H2O, fast, comes with a really nice lanyard. Gonna try it out on for my mobo's embedded Linux, ASUS Express Gate. I am not worried about dropping it or getting rain on it!8gigs is plenty for basic needs.

Solid drive, for a good price. I got 1 for $27 after rebate, and another 2 for $27 without rebate. They are reasonably fast, with about 11mb/s write, and.. not sure about read speed, since read speed will be somewhere around 20-30mb/s anyways, it doesn't really matter since it is not the fastest drive around. It does write a little faster than the corsair voyager 8gb I have though. Would purchase more if cheaper priced.

So far great drive, and fast when not in quick disconnect mode. I really like the rubber surrounding this for shock protection. Nice price too.

Great flash drive, good size, the key is quite fast compared to others, OCZ, Kingston, and the lower end voyagers but not as fast as the GT models. It is encased in a rubber casing which makes extra durable and resistant to drops and hits. Overall great drive. Oh and works with Vista, XP, and PS3

The first impression I got after reaceiving the drive is the build quality. Rubber casing on the outside is a pretty nice touch that feels better than plastic which usually makes you think that it might crack any second. The drive's write speed is comparable to its competitions and the read speed is exceptional. Exceptional product from Patriot at a decent price. I'll most likely give this to my Mom and buy myself the 32GB later this summer!

Ran some of my own file transfer benchmarks. Compared to the Corsair Voyager 4GB:-read speeds for files 0-1MB: equal-read speeds for files 1MB+: 34% faster-write speeds for files 0-1MB: 160% faster-write speeds for files 4MB+: 47% fasterThe drive died on my after 6 months of use. Overall this thumb drive is a great value with the rebate. The added male to female cable extension cable is required for those computers with a very close spacing of the USB ports. The neck lanyard is nothing special, but does perform the job as required. A black / red colored one which matched the unit would be nice.Bottom line this USB thumb drive is very durable, sexy looking, and performs the required task with a simple plug and play affair as is expected. Will definately look at their bigger capacity drives in the future, assuming they come on sale.

At this price, I got a 8GB for the price of a 4GB. Speed seems to be fine, read 25-28 MB/sec in Vista.

Nice thumb drive for $25 on sale. I'm mainly using it for file backups. It's fully encased in rubber including the cap which stays on pretty good. I don't have to worry about it getting damaged in my pocket. I used Flash Memory Toolkit for benchmarking and it was slower than my OCZ Rally 2 4GB at reading.
