Compact, Fashionable, Sturdy casing, and Rapid!my desktop front usb, 21-26 MB/slaptop 23-27 MB/sperform comp 24-32 MB/sold 8gb sandisk? 8.5 avg not much of a status light, can't even inform if it has 1 because my case lights shine up on the casing, but there might be one particular proper behind the keyring eyehole. Now that I know how rapid a usb flash drive really should be, I can by no means go back. I would have purchased this sooner.

1-Smaller than my XporterXTtwo-I'm obtaining the advertised speeds. Atto Bench reports 32.8MB/s Reads and 25.4MB/s Writes. FDBench 31.7MB/s Read and 24.8MB/s Write.3-Capless. i lost my Xporter cap, and it broke in my pocket. this appears like it will last longer Fairly expensive compared to other 16gb drives. this isnt genuinely a bad thing since the speeds are excellent and it isnt that much income. Not positive why other individuals arent receiving the rated speeds. i applied the formatting tool on patriots web site when i first got it, then performed the benchesi was afraid of receiving this based on the evaluations. mine appears fine and really quickly. these are bench speeds, and i'm ready to deal with slower speeds in actual planet scenarios.

This little guy is very fast. Greatest flash I've ever owned by far. I use it to hold motion pictures to plug into my WD Television Live HD plus. Due to the fact the most of the files are among four-8gb files, I formatted it to NTSC. I would rather it be exfat32, so I could put 12-13gb files on it, but the WD Tv Live doesn't read exfat32, which I found by way of trial and error, but this drive copies files in all three formats with wonderful speed. It only requires ten-15min to fill it entirely, at 14.9gb formatted to NTSC, which is unbelievable compared to my earlier PNY drive, which took 15-20min to fill up only 7.2gb. I love this drive! If I had to be picky I would say that the cover slides forward a little as well very easily and the drive doesn't appear to be perfectly straight. When plugged in you can inform the cover is slanted a bit so when you plug it in you have to tilt the drive a bit so it will line up appropriately. The connection is really solid so that doesn't really matter and neither of these are a massive deal in my book. I appear for a couple items in a drive: speed, reliability and durability. So far, immediately after about 3 weeks of use, this drive has exceeded my expectations. I would suggest this drive to anybody and everyone.

The write speeds on this thing are outstanding. Copying files to this is just as quickly as copying stuff to my USB external difficult drive. The factor is a tiny wide so if your USB ports are close with each other it may well prevent you from making use of the other port. This was an problem for me with my macbook pro simply because apple had the bright thought of spacing items quite close. The design is great and compact with no cap to shed.

Rapidly read/write speeds. I have an Intel chipset so I typically get all of the USB 2. bandwidth in the controller, so the drive flies.(So how a lot of of the reviewers complaining about speed are employing junky Nvidia chipsets? Just sayin) TERRIBLE design flaw. Yes, in caps for extra effect. The rubber around the keyring is so affordable that it broke off much less then 2 weeks of owning this item. Why even place a keyring hole if that occurs? Has any person at Patriot even used this model to see what occurs? I'm thinking no.Contacted Patriot tech help by e-mail, waited 48 hours as instructed and nevertheless no word. So, 3 eggs to 1 egg for Patriot Memory assistance. I own 4GB of Patriot gaming DDR3 in my desktop, so I count on a decent level of quality from Patriot. This product has fantastic speed, but I would rather not have to carry it about in my pocket like a lighter. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Buyer,Thank You for your beneficial feedback. 1. Fast read/write capabilities.two. Meets Xbox 360 overall performance suggestions.3. Does not expense ๖, the price of the official 16GB memory card.four. Retractable USB header. Slightly wider than most USB Flash Drives. I am working with this as a USB memory card for my Xbox 360 and the slightly wider profile of this card makes it tough to use the other USB port in the from of the console. Not a major difficulty as I only use the one this is plugged into. This is great, rapidly and meets Xbox 360 performance recommendations. Which is what I was soon after.

smaller, compact package with integrated cover. Study speeds are reasonably fast. Write speeds - more rapidly than "average"... but that's it. Write speeds are considerably a lot slower than claimed - my 3+ yr old drives carry out at 8 to ten Mb/sec. The FASTEST I get from this drive is 12 MB, across Every single single machine I applied. No lanyard integrated... If you need to have speed - don't bother with this 1. It is a Enormous dud... stick with the other brands with superior, far more constant reviews! I'm either going to return this drive or donate it to a good cause. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Buyer,We appreciate your useful feedback. Please be sure to check out our site to download and run our Performance Format Optimization Tool, as it really should give you a three-4MB/s functionality improve. Looks great Copied 14GBs worth of supply code to it, write speed was averaging 1.8MB/s, copied from the drive back to the HD, read speed was averaging 7MB/s. I formatted it with the patriot application that they posted on there forums, tried exFAT, FAT32 and even NTFS, the read/write remained unchanged. I saw that it was even undesirable when compiling. Got the OCZ Rally two (non turbo), much far better drive. Manufacturer Response:Dear Skrewface,Thank You for your valuable feedback. Based on how several files are being transferred, the speed of the drive may possibly drop because every file desires to be addressed individually. Wanted an Xbox 360 for a media streaming device. Identified a low cost one particular with no challenging drive. I am making use of this USB essential as the tough drive storage. I have loaded two complete Xbox games onto it, plus very a bit of downloaded content material. So far I have not had a issue at all. Each games have worked flawlessly in single, and multiplayer. I have not observed one particular hiccup or glitch however. None so far. 16GB is the largest supported for the 360. I went by means of three other drives ahead of this 1 was supported by the 360. I'll update if something modifications, but so far I would advocate a buy.

None I tried to backup to this flash drive, and it got no exactly where close to the advertised speeds. It never went above 6mb/s backing up my C:\users and my documents, and commonly was significantly much less. I tried each on NTFS and FAT32. Not positive if I need to RMA or return the drive exactly where I bought it, do I have a defective drive? Will the replacement be any better? Manufacturer Response:Dear iSoLateD1,Please keep in thoughts that when transferring numerous files the files the chipset host will need to have to address each file a single by one particular, as a result efficiency speed will drop a bit. However with that being stated, 6 MB/s is tremendously under performing for this drive. Please attempt our Performance Format Optimization Tool. This tool will give your drive a speed boost. Cons:-the cap doesn't exactly cover the USB head

Pros:-works as advertised-fairly long warranty period

Great upgrade from my older Patriot Xporter High Speed 2gb (worked for a good 2 years without a single problem). Excellent read/write speeds for what it is, and the form factor is great as well. The cap, as most have said, does not fully cover the USB head. The area for threading in a keychain ring is also too wide to fit a sturdy ring through(i personally ended up using a zip tie)I have been a patriot fan for memories, and will always be. Unless, of course, the company greatly disappoints me somehow.

- Fantastic style: short and uncomplicated to carry, and no cap to shed- Fastest essential I've ever employed (and I use a lot)- Has in no way failed or corrupted - Slightly wider than some other keys- Value is only OK; you get what you spend for, but it is high- Doesn't meet 25MB/s advertised speed on my x58 program I'm on x58 based, utilizing Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.I'm making use of the key to move 8 to 10GB of video files of 1.two - 3.6GB every single. I generally transfer three-four at a time, and never has this issue ever balked or corrupted. No negative sectors or difficulties, and I haven't formatted once in 3 months - just deleted and reloaded. When I move files about in Windows, it shows a write speed of 16-18MB/s, and I can usually move 8GB (my typical workload) in 7.5 minutes.Although it's by no means reached 25MB/s in practice, it beats all the other drives I have on hand - a Mushkin Mulholland, Corsair Voyager GTR and Survivor, OCZ Rally 2 and ATV Turbo, and a current Supertalent Godfather (I use a lot of keys!). All of these have maxed out on my program at 9-13MB/s write.Read speed is the true beauty right here, and Windows typically reports 31-33MB/s on reads from the drive.I know there have been lots of negative evaluations on this drive, but I have to report that my expertise had been absolutely nothing but positive. My very best key

- Incredibly tiny and light (compared to my other ones)- Sufficient for storage to make a little backup of my personal computer and more - Weird design- Practically takes two USB slots on my macbook I purchased it a week ago when I realized my 8gb was complete, even soon after a huge cleanup, so I went to my local dealer and purchased that one particular in rebate. The initial factor that struck me was the design that was utilized for it: It's not a removable cap, it's a sliding one particular, sliding as in the whole part marked XT slides up and down to reveal the USB's opening. There is no cover for the head of the USB, which means I'll in all probability have to clean it every single 6 to 8 months. Massive deal. Also, the speed on this point is remarkable. What took my old 8gb additional than two hours (USB 2.) to transfer roughly took 30 minutes on this one particular (Ӵ.40gb, lots and LOTS of photos + 348 songs)The only smaller cons is that it nearly takes the second USB slot on my Macbook, which isn't a challenge in itself considering that I only use them for backups and USBs, but it could turn into fairly a nuisance for an individual else. Beware. With the addition of the lifetime warranty, I am and will be recommending this brand of item to any individual searching a new

Cons:'Retractable cap' is a joke since nothing is being capped.

Pros:Good-sized drive with decent read/write speeds
Comment:
Wished companies would stop advertising this drive design as having a retractable cap. It's more of a sliding sleeve which serves no purpose as the interface end is still exposed. Lint can still get inside.

Ran a benchmark on the drive, read speed 27 mb/s, write varies depending if you are writing one large file or a lot of small files, any where from 10mb/s to 20mb/s. Still much faster than standard USB drives.I lost a Kingston 16 Gig drive, it was just too small.

Speeds are as advertised on my process. I use this drive to transfer significant files in between many systems in my property as properly as my HTPC. It's performance does fluctuate from system to system, but that is NOT the drives fault. It's a result of the reality every single process does not include the similar hardware as mine, is not configured the exact same as mine, and each has a various usage history. See "Other Thoughts". None as of yet. So far so good. I see all these reviews of men and women saying its not performing as advertised and however listing their tech level as "High Understanding". If this self appointed user rating was correct, then these customers would comprehend that the drive will not execute the very same from program to method. My principal method contains incredibly "high end" hardware and is quite nicely maintained, where as others in my residence are either older or include lower to mid range hardware based on their function. The manufacturer responses I am seeing are stating details. The drives performance is dependent on your systems hardware, configuration, drivers, operating process, and its overall usage history. So I had to post this critique to attempt and shed some light on this disturbing trend of reviews when I do not think the reviewers fully recognize whats going on. I just got this drive a couple days ago and it has met my expectations and if working as advertised and as I expected across all my systems. Great job Patriot!

No cap. On the other hand, the marketing team was really right, purchasing this drive will make you RAGE! (& foam from the mouth). This flash drive does NOT go up to 25/MBs. I'm critical, and angry. RAGE! Now I have to go by way of the inconvenience of returning this garbage back to the Underworld. However, let me elaborate so that you could share my RAGE. Unlimited RAGE!Immediately after numerous benchmarking tests, the drive peaked at 16.2 MB/s from transferring a 4GB test file. I even altered the formatting due to the fact when I initial tested it, it did only two/MBs. That's correct, on factory defaults, it does really horrible (Fat32ǞKB Allocation). To get it to 16 MB/s, I had to change it to NTFS & 1024 bytes. On the other hand, if you know simple math, or even simple something, you know that 16.two MB/s is not equal to the major 25 MB/s that's slapped on the box. DO NOT Buy. No lanyard, but there is a hole to put one particular. Great. That's like "This vehicle has no seat belts, but there's the hole if you want to put them oneself." Classy. I also like that there's no directions or anything on the box (Considering the fact that the default settings cripple it). Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Consumer,The method we utilized to get these speeds had been on the x58 platform working with HDBench at 40MB. The maximum efficiency speeds of the Rage Drive will differ from platform to platform. Please rest assured that Patriot Memory stands by it's items.
