Do the basics
Comment:
Before you get into any video editing know one thing that NOBODY will tell you up front. You need a very gutsy computer. Pay no attention to the minimum requirments for your hardware. The simple fact is this, video files are huge period. You will need lots of storage space. With prices coming down on HD, do yourself a favor and go with a minimum of 1TB or close to it. You need the latest in dual core or quad core processors, plenty of memory and a video card made for video editing which are called workstation cards. This is not a cheap hobby but if you make the investment into very good hardware you have eliminated practically all of your problems. The other thing to note is that the computer you buy should be dedicated, meaning no other software should be loaded, no games no nothing except what you need to edit. Also you must not use this computer for surfing the internet, only connect to download updates for your software. That is the long and the short of it. |
Had this product approx. 1 month. Only utilized the import feature so far ( importing vhs vhs-c tapes ) and the result has been very good. Did see some synchronization issue on one import wrt video audio. Product has already paid for itself just in terms of the analog to digital conversion of my video tapes.
